All the while from this thread i refused to believe Gears of War is full of bugs and glitches. Until i got the game. OMG i am so pissed with myself.

The problem is when i tried to create or host a match, the game will crash and some Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime library prompt said it forces the game to terminate. I tried reinstalling, getting various versions of runtime library, updating the game, windows live and window vista but still no use....

Well here i am, so anyone has better suggestion to get multiplayer game running?

look it thru already. Saddly no solution. Anymore ideas?

yeah i know that hack as well its dissapointing to hear that a random hacker can fix this problem faster than the folks at Microsoft.

only gears of war has this problem...so i doubt is a virus.

you could look at the official GoW forums for that and the wargame-G4Wlive crashes on the net by searching wargame-G4Wlive on google. Lots of solutions come up but none of those fix my multiplayer crash problem. Still thinking of wanna reformat my comp or not...

i wanna contact the support for Gears of war but i dont know who i should e-mail to. is it games for window? microsoft? or epic?

edit: ok im pissed. the xbox360 server of this game rocks but the PC port S.U.C.K.S. Not the gameplay but the shear amount of problems and glitches. Dont get this game unless you feel extremely lucky about yourself.

No. You still have a 50% chance of getting a window live error, 33% chance of graphic error, 20% chance of getting Warlive-G4W.exe error and 5% chance of getting an runtime error. (estimated from tech support posts in GoW forums)

Hmm your case arent in my estimated statistic.....Maybe you are the 1% of the people. I'll update my statistic sometime.

Anyway, after uncountable times i got own by Raam at insane, i tried hosting an online campaign mode for a hope that a kind soul would help me thru this. I never tried hosting an online campaign mode before because gears just freakin crash with C++ runtime error everytime i tried to start a versus session. But in suprise, someone is able to hook up to my game and eventual HELPED ME BEAT Raam!! i was so happy and wanted to thank him and then i realize i dunno how to TYPE MESSAGES in gears >.<!! After the final cutsence, before the credits roll the game crashes again in loading scene. How unsuprising.

Then i quickly flip through the game manual but i still cant find out how to type messages. So can anyone tell me how to do that?
(EDIT2: Oook i have to use the command prompt and type "say". )

Finally i want to thank the awesome dude that help me blow the Insane Raam to death with torque and grenades. I was so excited and i forgot his name (EDIT: i found out his name in the windows live thingy. His name is wildgolfer)

Beating Raam with a smart Dom feel so GOOOOD...=D

after a hd reformat i finally able to get gears multiplayer running. Any particular time you guys would come out & play? cant really stand the 400 ping host on planet neptune

Msia host? how do i identify them? I hope im able to hook up with them eventually.

Somehow i think the multiplayer listing system is seriously flawed. How come there's only a few host everytime and each of them gimme yltra high pings. crap.

Hey anyone have problem looking for a match in live list today? the live list display hundreds of host on the lower right corner of the lobby screen but no single one displayed on the lobby. I think this also happens a few weeks before, also on weekends. Normally i only see no more then ten hosts but still able to see them on the lobby list. Whats going on?

Getting down with lack of multiplayer hosts? Fear not! Lots of good folks made tons of quality singleplayer maps on gears! Most of em are challenging and beautifully designed!

Check out some of my favorite maps:

Knell and Descent --With snowy maps!
Fast Action Series
Orion --With reaver battles!

Installation is easy just copy paste the downloaded files to Documents and Settings->*your PC account name*->My Documents->My games->Gears of War for Windows->Wargame->Published->Cooked PC->Maps->CustomMaps

If you dont have the CustomMaps folder just simply create one.
Hope you enjoy the game!

To run the map just host the map in LAN or you can type open *map name* on the console.
