MAE is an app and also an eWallet account.
Your Maybank2U is saving/current and protected under PIDM. |

PIDM protection not against scammers anyway.
Only protect up to 250k if the bank goes bankrupt. Since it is Maybank, very unlikely to bungkus lor. |

PIDM protects your eligible bank deposits up to RM250,000 in the event a member bank becomes bankrupt. PIDM will reimburse your bank deposits up to RM250,000 promptly.

QUOTE(caviars @ Jul 30 2023, 07:09 PM) Well i found this at first search.Member of PIDM. HLB Wallet/-i and HLB Wallet+ are protected by Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia up to RM250,000 for each depositor. https://www.hlb.com.my/content/dam/hlb/my/d...account-faq.pdf But then this one is interesting. I could not verify if this website has legitimate info or not. QUOTE Does PIDM protect my money in eWallets? PIDM is a government agency which protects our deposits in banks. Outside of banks however, perhaps the biggest concern for users using other forms of financial services (such as investment apps or eWallets) is whether or not our money is protected in the same way. The answer? Yes! PIDM protects eWallet users indirectly by protecting the funds that are placed by eWallet companies in PIDM member banks. However, remember that non-bank eWallets such as Grab and Boost are not PIDM member institutions, hence PIDM does not directly protect e-money which is being used as a payment instrument. https://ewhallet.com/blog/post/e-wallet-law...ons-in-malaysia But if you think about it, MAE account is separate from your MBB account. Even though you can see both account balances and do transaction on them. My MAE is 0.00 because i do not use it. In this case, i think MAE account is similar to TNG Ewallet. Both are not protected by PIDM. QUOTE The balance in the GO+ account should not be treated as E money, deposit; and is neither capital guaranteed nor capital protected by PIDM.1 Oct 2021 |

QUOTE(caviars @ Jul 30 2023, 07:35 PM) Looking for a e-wallet that somewhat emulate a saving account. It is not easy to open bank account if you are unemployed. Unemployed for whole life? rauma liked this post
