Really looking forward to this, loved the the novel. QUOTE(azarimy @ Oct 21 2007, 07:55 AM) however, the story differs quite a lot from the novel, i was informed. so dont expect a direct translation from the written media, even the ending is different. i might catch the novel after this, but general impression that i've read from the net is that this is one of the few films that managed to outshine the novel. we'll see later. If you can, get the illustrated version. Vess' beautiful illustrations add much to the overall experience.

Just got back from seeing this movie and I loved it. The changes done to the movie were definitely for the better.
All the performances were really good and it seemed true to the feel of the novel. Charlie Cox was excellent as Tristran but the real surprise for me was Claire Danes. I never particularly liked Danes before this, but found her to be perfect as Yvaine.
I look forward to owning this on DVD.
