this is their normal practice in their mainland...  in genting, there are "no spitting" signboards just for PRC...

I’ve been asking Management to install a closer or fix the doors but they’re useless bastards.
Middle-aged man and middle-aged woman working in the KLCC area. Oh, and they like to "keep their living room door open so the whole corridor can see what they’re doing. Apparently it’s quite common in China."

Actually its a cina tradition for us to signified "welcome" only until recently, since the 80s we lost it due to security/kepoh reasons due to kiasu attitude of sizing each other up.
open door used to be a thing for us since neighbours knows each other intimately unlike today
the same applies to slamming the door to signified "here got human stay" as well, until recently we stop that due to reasons of "i dont want to know you, i dont want to care about you" attitude we recently slowly inherit.
shame or not, i foresee in the near future we will have an outbreak of ppl die in their own house and nobody knows until months later like those in japan.

I’ve seen you keep complaining about neighbours in other threads

I think you are not suitable living in condo/apartment

Go find a landed house to rent. Landed house rental cost also quite similar with condo.

If u seriously want a peace and quiet environment, go buy a land and build a house where no neighours on left and right

Dah nama pun duduk condo/apartment, people are living left, right, above and below you. You sounds like a typical karen that I handled last time when I was working in Property management office

There is normal condo noise and there are annoying noises that people don’t have to put up with. Guess you’re the type with low standards but even with landed houses, people have problems with noises there as well.

Also common in Malaysian homes everywhere. Landed, condo, kampung houses. Especially among old folks, probably due to lack of AC in their day and habits stick.

Exactly. But most comments insinuate only PRC do it due to being uncouth.

I know many who do this, including my entire family. Myself only realised it was an issue when gf pointed it out. I didn't use to slam but didn't close doors gently either.
It's a combination of lack of civic mindedness, ignorance and in denial.

My condo neighbor opposite of mine from China always keep door open 24/7. Talk also damn loud and always slam door. Cook also the whole corridor can smell. Is it a norm in China to leave door open and talk damn loud with door open? Its getting on my nerves. Guess these people are just uneducated.
