Hi,

My house was completely renovated on 2018, and during renovation we had the worst rain in Northern Malaysia where my house was slightly flooding about few 2cm after tiles was laid.
After I moved in my house was facing the same issue 1-2 times but it is just very light about half a cm and the water retreated very soon right after the rain started to slow.

And now I am having tiles hollowing issues around my living hall, some even starting to detached from the ground at corner.

I would like to ask, is it problem caused by the floods?

And how to fix it without knocking and replacing the tiles?

I see on youtube there is a type of chemical where we can pumped into the tile and fix the problem, anyone has done it before?

bestest solution is to rip the affected tiles and redo again

Typically: Workmanship or material issue. You see, when tiles are laid they are soaked in water and even covered w wet newspaper to prevent them from drying out too quickly.

Wetness from flood does not affect cured tiles, else everyone’s bathroom will already have popping tiles after a shower.

In your case: because of the flood during curing (28days after laid) ⚠️ it already diluted all the cement and susu leaving a very weak bond hence 🍿 tiles
