I need help on choosing a good cheap CPU Cooler and thermal paste for my old i7 4790.

So far I only, only found a few candidates which is Snowman MT6S Dual Fan, ID-COOLING SE-224-XTS and Jonsbo CR1400. For thermal paste it's either GD900 or MX-4

The Snowman MT6S Dual Fan seem to be a valued cooler base on reviews. But there is no local seller and have to order it from China. The bracket seems a bit iffy if you ask me.

Can't find much about ID-COOLING SE-224-XTS and Jonsbo CR1400. But base benchmarks on YouTube, the ID-Cooling is the better choice but Jonsbo seem to be a bit cheaper.

I don't know much about thermal paste, all I know is GD900 is better and cheaper then MX-4 but doesn't last long.

I only have a budget for coolers and paste around RM 150. So I need help choosing one of these or suggestion for alternatives.

I more into the most quiet ones over lower temperature. Since I'm doing voice recording, live streaming and video editing on my PC.

honestly... that i7 4790 not even worth upgrade cooling.

the slowest last gen i3 = 200% faster...

save money.

upgrade the system, even to a i3... with stock cooling is still smoking this old legend.

Some coolers may come with some cheapo thermal paste

GD900 is basically a cheap MX4 clone
It's Peformance is similar but don't expect the 7 year durability of the MX4

Do note there's quite many MX4 fakes on online marketplaces
The latest one is MX6

Honestly you'll probably be fine with GD900

For RM 150 you could get a lot of cooling options, going all the way up to SE 225XT for just RM 159.

Snowman, you could search reviews, a few, on Techyescity.

SE224XTS, detailed review by Tweaktown & Techpowerup,

CR1400, you can see here

But consider that ur CPU only has 84W TDP, it really doesnt matter as whichever will do just fine so go whichever is cheapest but if SE224XTS is only a few RM away, get that as its mounting bracket seems the most sturdy and IDC do develop new mounting kits to fit older coolers.

PS all these coolers comes with own thermal paste so you dont need to get separate one. Saves you money.

PPS the CR1400 is actually a 92mm cooler vs the other two which are 120mm. Anyhow for such middling TDP it will still work. Good thing being Msian we can also understand Indonspeak.

Go for Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120, period. It has the best performance for the amount you paid. You can find it around RM140~RM180.
