For such a long stay, I rather go further!! For me (If I hv the same time as u.) - I will planned:

Macau (1 day), Zhuhai (1day), Guanzhou (2D), Shenzen(1day), Hong Kong- The ramaining....
For me I will be in Macau in Dec'08 for only 4D3N!! sad.gif ....The unthinkeable think already in my mind as I'm not gearing towards shopping but sight seeing - So will spending most of my time travelling on busses from Macau-Zhuhai-Guanzhou-Shenzhen-HK. HK I will pass thru only to catch fery back to Macau... blush.gif No intention in Macau/HK actually-Been there in 1995...More on Guanzhou.. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(blursze @ Sep 14 2008, 12:00 AM)
hmm..consider 6 whole day but dunno why i think like not enough time ...lolx...and do shops open on 1st Jan? yea...already prioritize the places, but now is the route, dunno should go zhu hai first or before going back to hong kong.

My first choice of route is:

KL - Macau - Zhu hai - HK - Shen Zhen - HK - Macau - KL
*so just stay one night in Zhu hai

2nd choice is:

KL - Macau  -HK - Shen Zhen - Zhu hai - Macau - KL
*1 night stay in S.Z and 1 night in Z.H

or any other suggestion???

i planned to bring home some fresh oyster from Zhu hai but wondering can bring home or not? can pass through custom?

Anyway, I treat HK as another huge city ..for me I preferred History & interesting sight seeing not fancy modern city ...Dun fancy theme park as well..I hv yet to step in to Sunway Lagoon although visited Ocean park & did nothing there accept wathcing the Orca jumping up & down) blush.gif ..prefer those museum, chinese history..retro of the past & etc... biggrin.gif ...HK lack those thing.. sad.gif I really missed the time seeing ppl on the roof of those Flats during descending to Kai Tak.. sad.gif

I hv not been to Guanzhou..so targeting this city-lah such as Fooshan (Dun think hv the time to visit Wong Fei Hong house, Sun Yat Sen museum & Mt Baiyun hmm.gif

Anyway, Dun mean HK really boring..for sure it's heaven for ladies & shopping...Since I'm not on shopping sprees & probably just snapping few photos on changes on HK skylines since 1995..So I will give it a skip. biggrin.gif
QUOTE(northasian @ Sep 14 2008, 12:07 PM)
The fresh one you mean eating raw oyster, right?

The food poisoning case in Macau from that news was caused by the importer of HK, the gov't found out they have probably amended the oyster lable from "hard-frozen"(means the oyster should be cooked) to "chilled"(means fresh chilled type that can be eaten raw). I believe the importer want to make more money by changing the label 'coz chilled oyster can be sold with a higher price ma... All those oysters are believed originated from Mainland China, and distributed by a HK company.

Anyway, I would recommend you to eat cooked one 'coz China's stuff are not always reliable.
Guangzhou has many things to see meh? For me, I think Zhuhai is quite similiar with Guangzhou... HK has changed a lot since 1995 (it's 13 years already!!) In 1995, it's still the old Kai Tak Airport, we did not have Disneyland, the Ocean Park at that time was damn so boring, we did not have Star Avenue & Symthony of Lights show, The Peak was not as developed as nowadays, we did not have Tsing Ma Bridge, Po Lin Monestry was not so popular, we did not have ngong ping 360 cable car and we didn't even know where Tung Chung was.....etc.

Actually looking for those very old heritage buidings such as 1000yr old temples, historical buildings & etc..inc old very old museum & really having historical value....My last visit to HK in 1995, visited the Wong Tai Sin & the another temple located at Tsim Sui Wan...Touching the god and the following year found my wife & got married...so the legend of touching the god probably true biggrin.gif ..Too bad those temples are too new & not really ancient temples that I wanted.. sad.gif probably no time on those museum visit...more like showing my wife & daughter the changes in HK skyline b4 taking a ferry bck to Macau...Well what to do only booked 4D3N & sumore arrival & departure is Macau not HK sad.gif

Thus my trip to Macau will be gearing towards China rather than Macau/HK.... blush.gif

QUOTE(northasian @ Sep 14 2008, 01:15 PM)
Actually HK got quite a few of those historical spots too.. not sure if you've visited them? Most of them I also heard only but never visit them as well.. e.g. : A list of museums (http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/en/cs_mus_lcsd.php)
HK Museum of History in TST, Sam Tung Uk Museum in Tsuen Wan, HK Heritage Museum in Shatin, The Heritage Trails in different districts(http://www.lcsd.gov.hk/CE/Museum/Monument/en/trails.php), HK Railway Museum in Tai Po.....etc. Also the fishing village in Tai O, 吉慶圍 in Kam Tin (http://www2.hkedcity.net/citizen_files/ab/aw/tc6628/public_html/new_page_5.htm) and a lot many I can't remember...

Yeh I can't deny that China have a lot more of those historical/heritage spots than HK. But really hard to finish all of them in just a few days time 'coz China is too big la...... and Guangzhou got a lot of nice but cheap food to eat! drool.gif

Their bad reputation is on their call ctr. It's either busy or no one answering. Their modus operandi mimic Air Asia...all online booking & thus less back-office staff. I used them once, and abit scary initially because keeps on calling to confirm flight & etc but no one answering even Email no reply.

However the scare turned out to be a sweet vacation as I enjoy the tour package once I reached Hanoi & the agent there done a good job thumbup.gif They are using the same agents as Reliance Pacific (Later I found out PYO is actually sister co to Reliance!!) & the package by reliance is almost 2.5X my price!! Imagine I got it at RM750/pax & another couple using Reliance on the same flight & package got it for RM1800!!

QUOTE(mushkins @ Nov 19 2008, 12:59 AM)
nope.. i didn't get it from pyo travel. isn't that the travel agency with quite bad reputation?

Hehe..I dun go there for shopping-lah. More on sight seeing & museums visit such as NanYue Kingdom mosoleum, The Kingdom's ex-palace ground north of Guanyuenxian Metro, 6 Banyan Tree Pagoda, Chan Clan house. On Beijing Lu my target is actually the ancient road not the shopping....Yeah the real shoppings probably at Shenzhen & Tianhe area looking for GPS gadgets, HID torchlight, laser & etc..not interested in any T-shirt, polo or pants....I go for cheap & no brand one blush.gif blush.gif biggrin.gif + experiencing end of Autumn in Pearl river Delta....nothing more than that...Imagine I'm bringing only RM1500 to all these cities how to shop? Just cover my cost of transportation & food.. blush.gif

Anyway thnx for the tips, I heard also the price of the cloths are no longer cheap & infact more expensive than M'sia!!

BTW, I doubt I can cover so many places within this 4D!! Lucky my flight has been changed to early flight giving me more time to cover Macau..In MAcau I will be probably walk to Venetian from airport, spend 1 hr there snapping photos only blush.gif , take the free bus right across the bridge, still considering visisting A Ma temple & Macau Tower, therafter spending more time by walking to Senado Square & therafter to Ruin of St Paul. Then take another connecting bus/taxi to Gongbei border & stay overnite at Zhuhai b4 going to Guangzhou.

In Shenzhen, I might be going to Windows of the world (2nd visit) biggrin.gif or skipping that visit to Dongmen gadgets shopping, cross over to Hong Kong visit the Peak & then bck to Macau..any comment on such a crazy itineraries.... blush.gif biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Zard @ Nov 28 2008, 11:04 PM)
250HKD is just about enough food + transport minus the shopping. Buying anything from shopping center is really expensive. Ladies street maybe 2 or 3 t-shirts for 100HKD to 150HKD. I spent around RM8k shopping around SOGO, jardine and time square.
guangzhou well if you end up in beijing road buy shoes then, lots of them around, things there are not cheap ok, well sports shoes around RM150 to 250 or so if you aim for local chinese brand 361 and Li Ning. Adidas or Nike buy from hong kong cheaper. Forget about buying T-shirts, you go during the wrong season. If you aim for jeans maybe RM150 to RM250 price range from this area. If possible go to tianhe area got some shopping area, cheap to expensive shops around.

Touching down at airport ~10:30am, Reaching Venetian via the free shuttle ~11am, window shopping & sight-seeing around Venetian till ~12:30pm, Took bus no26a at the bck of Venetian to Macau. Reaching ~1pm, sight seeing around Grand Lisboa & having lunch at the bck of Margaret cafe. 2pm walking to Senado Square, St Dominic Church, St Paul ruin & the fortress till ~5pm & boarded bus no 18 to Zhuhai border. Reaching Zhuhai hotel ~6pm. Hope this help...but u need more time if u decided to visit more places such as A-Ma temple, Macau tower, Guai fort, St Antonio church, Pengha hill church, Sun Yat Sen house & etc.

@Northasian....According to the bus drivers, the fare has recently increased. no more mop2.50 &mop3.10 sad.gif...now 3.1 within Macau & cross island mop4.20....S2000- no need to change to mop..HK coins can be used...

BTW, In order to further cost saving in Macau, using the free shuttle buses available is another alternative. For eg, If u wanted to goto Senado square from Ferry terminal, take the Grand Lisboa free shuttle bus to Grand Lisboa & walk to Senado square,,not far ~1km only.

Also for those thinking of going to Venetian, just hop-in to Venetian free shuttle bus from airport (Not sure Venetian free shuttle operating from the ferry terminal?

Not sure what happen to my earlier 2nd part covering Zhuahai & Guangzhou hmm.gif ..probably accidentally overwrite wth my last part hmm.gif

Anyway on 2nd part, Subsequent to Macau, I stayed overnite at Yong Tong Hotel Zhuhai( RMB230 or RM120), Nite shoppings- Lotsa shops surrounding Lan Hua Lu & also the border underground shopping mall (Landmark?)

Start my day early wth lousy Xiao Long Bao but cheap. Thereafter bought 3 tickets to Guangzhou Tianhe coach terminal from the terminal below my hotel. 2hr & arrived at Guangzhou ~10:30am.

Visited Tianhe 2 shopping malls (Teemall & Grandview) Grandview is touted as 1 of the largest in the world but it was dissapointing for me as it's dun look bigger than 1U or even Mid Valley Megamall hmm.gif )

Took a metro (subway) to Gong Yuan Xian station & walked ~1Km to Beijing Lu - famous pedestrian mall & also the excavated ancient road. The shopping there also disappointing...lotsa clothes, shoes, & ladies accessories but lack of guys stuff (Electronics & gadgets!!)

Too tire to walk after the shopping trips & decided not to continue wth my earlier plan to visit Nanyue King Museum & 6 banyan tree pagoda. Took the metro to Guangzhou East train station & boarded the 5:18pm speed train to Shenzhen (Really fast max 200km/hr) Reached Shenzhen ~6:15pm Stayed overnite at Railway station hotel (RMB200).

Shop till drop at the Border mall got the gadgets I wanted for (1/4 of the price in M'sia!!), Tea leaf ( Cha Wang) & more....My trip photos can be view here:
