Not really cold during CNY nowadays. In the past, yes, mostly the weather was damn cold in CNY but we had warm CNY these 2 years... global warming and climate changed... weather tends to fluctuate a lot.
Yeh... damn cold until I wake up with a "frozen" nose every morning.... You know, we were having this kind of weather throughout the winter in the past! But I guess the cold weather won't last till CNY... If now is warm then CNY would be cold, but now cold then CNY would be warm ga la...
Cold this week and the coming week je... CNY may not this cold. Check weather forecast before you pack.
Wa.. if this cold then need to wrap like a wanton ga la!! Today I wrap like a dumpling to work too... -__-" Damn cold... the coldest in these 3 days!!! HK Observatory isn't very accurate this time!!!!

Yeh.. feel colder if staying home, we on the heater finally last nite. The heater has been abandoned in my house for ages already but gotta use last nite..

12-17'c is right, but some areas will be lower than 12'c, e.g. new territories 'coz less population. Do you think 12'c is warm?? 12'c is cold enough for you to wear down jacket!! I am "frozen" at home now... No matter what hot beverage I drink I still feel damn damn cold!! >_<
Summer seems less hazzy.. the most serious is during Spring, I think...
Oh finally! Last year I heard they gonna fly from Jan..

I said Summer is LESS hazzy... the reason may be due to the wind direction.

Nothing special, it's just mainly residential area.

I don't think the air is clearer in KL. The difference is just you need to walk with the traffic in HK, but in KL you mainly in the car with air-con along the traffic.

You mean New Territories? In HK even new shopping complexes, shops inside are more or less the same... I think shopping malls in downtown would be better and with more variety of shops.

For me, I didn't feel much difference of air between HK and M'sia, 'coz I seldom go to downtown anyway~

Just heard from the weather forecast the chilling weather will last until CNY!!! Now the temp is just 10'c.... T_T and it's raining outside... this is exactly what the Chinese idiom says "add frost on the snow"...

been there really enjoyed it but hard to find halal food ..... nice vie from the peak at night not to mention the firework huhuhhuhuhh

So afraid of air pollution why you still wanna come to HK?
mad-dog, do you think HK is really that air-polluted except in CWB/Mongkok/TST such busy districts?

HK all the time air polluted, the pollution mainly come from Mainland, I think during CNY is better already 'coz factory are having holiday.

尖沙嘴 is already in Kowloon, don't understand what you meant "can see Kowloon from 尖沙嘴"..
I always think summer is better.. the most serious is spring getting to summer, or summer getting to autumn when air movement is not very active..

can't stop, it will only get worse 'coz it's being a factory for the whole world. Can you live without using any product which is made in China?

It won't drive expats away if they offer good salary. Does air pollution drive tourists away from HK? I don't think so. Only if there is enough attraction, tourists still come. Same for the expats.

HK is working to minimise air pollution locally, at least most people in HK take bus/MTR for transportation, better than countries like Indonesia & M'sia everyone drives own car out which will produce more carbon dioxide to the air...

Factories gather in Pearl River Delta area becoz most of them are runned and owned by HKers, so they gotta choose a place close to HK in order to manage. There are factories in other provinces as well, like Yiwu & Wuhan are well developed industrial area. In Pearl River Delta, the possibility of occuring natural disaster is slim, it's not located in the volcano/earthquarke active area, the most serious one is typhoon only.

That's why KL also got the hazzy days as well, not only HK.

from the NWF website, the last ferry from Macau to HK is 20:30 on weekdays, but the last one is 00:30 on Sat, Sun and HK Public Holidays.

exchange rate between MOP and HKD is a bit difference, but I don't know how much.. just a few dollars difference only.
