common sense la bro.... mclaren never produced their own engine, their F1 cars are powered by mercedes engine with mclaren ECU.
i never mentioned that mclaren used ferrari info(contents) to alter their ECU. mclaren don't need the info, it's the way the ECU built / design that they may need. before this, their ECU design may not as reliable. hence they can be partly blamed for the frequent engine break down on those usually reliable mercedes engines.
mclaren@mcrobber or whatever we called 'em could use the ferrari engines structures, ratios, and brake distribution and implement it on their own cars. and perhaps taking advantage of the reliable magnet marelli electronics system in ferrari.
