Fuuu all TGV "IMAX" are LIEMAX theatres...
False. Not "all". Strictly talking about screen size - TGV at Sunway VELOCITY has the largest IMAX screen in Malaysia, and probably one of the largest in Southeast Asia.
See:

It has a GT (IMAX Grand Theater) screen, although in order to project an image FULLY onto a GT screen in 1.43:1 aspect ratio, IMAX DUAL laser projectors are required. TGV @ Velocity has had a Xenon projector for the longest time which limits it to 1.90:1 projection.
Although apparently they have allegedly upgraded to laser according to someone on Twitter. This is not stated on the IMAX website, so I have my doubts about this claim. (Whether it is single or dual has yet to be confirmed - I will find out once TGV replies to my message or once I attend an Oppenheimer screening there to confirm for myself).
GSC @ IOI City Mall 2 has a SINGLE laser projection and a non-GT screen (noticeably smaller-sized screen than that of IMAX TGV Sunway Velocity). The projector and screen both limit its capabilities to strictly 1.90:1 aspect ratio. BUT you are getting a superior image compared to Xenon projection - the colours, contrast, and brightness are far superior to Xenon projection.
If TGV IMAX @ Sunway Velocity has upgraded to even a single laser IMAX projector, that makes it the best location in Malaysia for IMAX, even when compared to GSC @ IOI City Mall 2, because of its substantially larger screen size. If TGV had the brains to upgrade to DUAL laser instead, since they already have a IMAX GT screen, then they will have the only location in Malaysia that can screen at the amazing IMAX 1.43:1 aspect ratio.
My personal verdict for now is: TGV Sunway Velocity for screen size. GSC IOI 2 for image quality. If TGV upgrades to laser then they win.
