Last time a malay friend/ colleague of mine lost RM50K to those kuda machines. Lucky that time he has side income job that could cover his family expenses. I did not know about this until i met him 2 years ago. We were kopitiam talking and the gambling machine addiction subject came up. So not necessary Chinese is the most common suspect for gambling. In some rare occasions you get a malay or 2 in the mix.

some get only blisters

tru the years
my cousin ran away to dunno where
mother's funeral also dare not return
one stationery shop owner ran away
left wife with debts and kids
ketua kampung owner of business and shoplot
ended in cuci pinggan in the same shop
in the end, these gamblers got too friendly
with shylocks and money mongers
they all have passed the stage of wanting to win
it's all in the dopamine and adrenaline system

No need. My close relatives are my sampling. The different between them and frequent gamblers who live a normal life is they get addicted, while others reserve certain portion of money ie. RM100 per month, solely for 4D, that's it . First it started with 4D, then upgrade to spin/kera/monyet, lastly pinjam along, losing jobs.

not religion issue, but the person itself....im not muslim, but i also don't gamble and encourage other ppl not to gamble...so many times i told my workers not to gamble, but yet they still continue...everytime salary out, they took their salaries to pay the debt and not send back to kampung..kinda sad and pity them that they came here so far from their country to suffer, but yet they gamble all their salaries away...and mostly through illegal gambling channel.
