How do I use the TnG function on my IC?

Should I just go to any place to reload my IC's TnG right away without activating anything?

Do take note the Touch n' Go for your IC has validity of 10 years, after which you need to replace a new IC.

Reloaded receipt don't throw away. You might need some info there to ask your ic card tngo expiry date.

After reload, you can see your TNG acc number.

Use that acc number to add card to your TNG app. You can see ur expiry date in TNG app.

This is important to keep track of the amount in IC and minimum must be RM 5 I remember in order to purchase any daily or monthly pass.

My only gripe with the TnG Reload machine is that, it's hard to detect cash note sometimes. Often get rejected.
There was a time when TnG eWallet barcode scan is available as reload payment option but it's no longer available. No idea why.

make sure you register your ic in tng website. when you lost your IC or change to new IC or simply don't want to use it anymore you can request refund from tng. once you request refund, the ic can't be use as tng anymore.

if you don't register your ic, you cannot request for refund.

Weird. Is there TnG logo on the bottom left side, at the back of your IC?
Have you tried register your IC on TnG Website?

I think only the cards with the newer chips can do contactless transactions. The 32k one cannot, not sure about 64k.

Its quite safe, I make it a point to store 50 bucks on the Mykad TnG for emergency use.

Me myself would prefer using touch and go card compared using ic as touch and go, some or most petrol station did sell touch and go card, just ask over the counter, or else shopee also got 🙂

Unlikely you can find a place to top up / use TNG Card in Sarawak.

You may get a new TNG NFC card at Lazada App (RM10 + Delivery charge to Sarawak RM9.50) or buy a new TNG NFC at KK Super Mart @ KLIA T2 (L2M), RM10 only.

You then top up TNG NFC card yourself. Using a NFC phone and TNG wallet App, FOC.

The TNG NFC is valid for 7 years, the NFC won't get frozen if you don't use it for 12 months (not like old TNG card).

I use my IC for more than that, minus TnG function. At the end, the chip inside the IC will fail. Have to get a new one (free).

Nope. Use it until it fail. eg cannot verify your fingerprint, not detected, etc

a little less known hack:
after your IC TnG expiry, u can actually bring it to any LRT/MRT counter & ask them to extend validity for another 3 years.
they will a bit reluctant & discourage u to do so, saying it may be unusable eben after extension.
ignore it & insist on extension. they r actually require to do it.
the discouragement is just empty threat so they can sell more tng card.
it's perfectly fine to extent.

after that 3 years extension, then only it's really expire & u can no longer use it unless u change new ic.

Nvm, answer my own question, i just noticed in TNG Application it shown your expiry for mykad TNG
