Hello, just want to ask regarding the importance of stackoverflow reputation during interview. Does it help you get better chance of getting hired if you have reputation. I know that interviewer almost never ask about it but is it ok to talk about it during an interview? Currently i only have 49 reputations....

Currently i only have 49 reputations.... if the interviewer want to test the candidates' skill, they might ask some issue recently found / resolved from their system. From the replied solutions, they might able to estimate the level of candidates.

Although I am no longer a full-time programmer myself, I have seen people putting StackOverflow link in their resume. But I am certain that you have finished any competition, you can put under resume the section "Awards & Accomplishments". I think since you are junior, it is understandable if you don't have much reputations on StackOverflow yet. It is not just give feasible solution on that programmer's Q&A website, but also to ask good question (which you will garner many more upvotes). All the best in your job hunting.

Nope. No one cares about StackOverflow. Github code, maybe.

I don't care about such things.
If you provide a github profile, I'll see what you've worked on. See your commit messages and roughly gauge your thinking process.
However it is optional and lowly weighted. How you perform during the interview is still way more important

(In short I mean popularity)

(In short I mean popularity) I said CODE code on github. Nothing else matters. Ok, perhaps how good your issue reporting/follow ups are. And quality of pull requests. All these are under "how well this person works with others" This post has been edited by angch: Jul 8 2023, 07:43 AM
