Hey, sorry for hijacking the boards.

I'm in desperation, im in kuching on a gap year, just bought a laptop, but no WoW discs - back home in england >.>

Just wondered if anyone had EU WoW discs i could borrow just to install - downloading from account management is tedious, 32+ hours sad.gif

I'm too cheap to pay extortionist amounts of money for new discs ;p + its a hassle for me, ordering etc with no actual address ;p

email me at - acidic_dilution_50_50@hotmail.com

Most malaysians seem to be playing on US servers so i guess my chances are slim, but should there be any kuchingians with EU discs i have drinks with your name on them.

thanks, Sam!!

ps. cool boards, - im from Kuching originally, so its nice to get in touch with a malaysian gaming community biggrin.gif

Added on October 19, 2007, 9:17 pmSat in Havana with blizzard downloader after 4 hours i have 2% biggrin.gif 56 hours to go biggrin.gif - bar closes at 1am hehe, i might get 4%! biggrin.gif

disclaimer:bump

i think you need a whole new account instead of the disc alone, but mabey now they changed it idk.

You don't need new discs if you have a preexisting account. Too bad you're in Kuching otherwise might be able to help if you were in Selangor instead.

Alternatively it's not too difficult to find torrents for the WoW discs which shouldn't technically be illegal to download since you already have an existing license.

Getting the disc will install the game but to play the game, u'll still need to get the license either via online or buying the retail box with a valid license. Some more, you may probably need 2 license - WoW starter and Burning Crusade.

Since you have a laptop, I can meet you in town to pass you the installation CDs and you can install them. A cuppa coffee at bings? tongue.gif Only problem is that you probably have to wait until I'm back home this weekend from Europe.

Some of my colleagues play but since I've been away from home for 2 weeks, I can't remember their LYN nick. Hee hee! But hopefully they're reading this.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Yeah i'll license WoW+TBC through purchasing keys online.

Then i can play on your realm and pester you for mount gold biggrin.gif

Getting my friend from sweden to mail me some EU discs ;D.

Need to play with my old friends from Iddqd and Method aswell, but i'd like to see how US servers are in comparison etc. (+you say latency for EU sucks in malaysia?)

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xm...rogg&n=Gorgasmo - my old toon , out of action for 7 months sad.gif also have a 70 paladin on Sylvanas EU, hardcore-ish player looking for guild plx! i r nawt a nablet - i think)

Ya latency to EU isn't great. It's not good enough for high end raiding. While you can still log in to play, your performance will be significantly worse than your Swedish buddies with their low latency 100mbit connections :<

My latency for Darksorrow EU hovers between 600-1000 so i'm more or less casual these days. Can't time those shield bash/pummels on my warrior for spell interrupts.. stance dancing is a real b****. Just waiting for my guildies to progress through hyjal/BT so i can log in just to leech epix!

i hate epix leachers =.=, y do i hate them? coz they dont do shit to help progress but when we clear a dungeon they are always there 1 or 2 raid later with their puppy faces to get some epics

Yup the main problem here is not about timing difference. It's the latency. Anything from 200-400ms is definitely playable, but should it hit the 4 digit numbers you will pray that you dont become a liability to the guild. If you cant even do the T5 instances properly, going into bt/hyjal will make you a big liability to the raid seeing there are so many movements involved and if you even have a sudden spike, it would cause a death which, depending of encounters, results in a wipe. Many a fight in there require you to stay alive as the primary objective.

People in Europe have the upper hand seeing that they have low MS, not because they have faster internet connections, but because the servers are much closer to their location geographically. They typically play with a latency of between 40-150ms.
