I bought my r4 from a user here.
it was all good. till i found out the cd is missing!
i tought it was going to alrigth since i can download files from the r4 site.
so i download the latest version eng 1.11 then i load it in my tf/mirco sd.
then i start the ds.
the ds cant cont.
it goes to r4 then it stops and i can see chinese/japanese language at the bottom.
with three !!!.
yes 3 exclamation marks.
i need help.

im guessing i missed some files?
can i download the whole r4 disc somewhere?
i call the dealer he said he's going to post it to me.
but its gonna take a day or more!
so please if you can help pls do!

by the way.
please name all of the files tht i need to run the r4 perfectly.

First off, read the walkthrough on R4DS. They actually put it there for the reason
secondly, you also can use a SEARCH function in this forum to search for other similar thread. in fact, if you look carefully. a similar thread is VERY near to this thread

lastly, your R4ds is most probably chinese. Go download the chinese firmware .
And if you gonna ask where.... gggggggrrrrrrr

is it the new version of R4? coz mine also doesnt come with the CD. maybe they stop including the cd in the new batch?

I got 2 R4. ONe for me and my gf. BOth also got no CD. I noticed that but forgot to ask. Anyway search thru the thread and you will find the answer. I did encounter the exact same thing actually and now after some trial and error, my R4 is working and in English.

New R4? You mean the one without spring? Just wondering if malaysia has already import it...

Yes, that one without spring at microsd slot and with grooves at sides.

^errr. it seem the groove still at the top side of the cart... em, maybe my mistake, as i know the slot for micro sd is similar with other card (i compare with ezflash v).. i didn't realize r4 have a spring in the slot cus i've tried it before, i just put/remove the micro sd in the slot, no need to push or whatsoever.
-in jb, the r4 package also did not include the cd...

the reason he/she encounter this problem cus he/she use different firmware...
chinese r4 need chinese firmware/kernel same as english which also need the right firmware...

we already discussed it before. if we have chinese r4 we can use english language by patching the firmware. make sure u buy r4 with springless memory slot cus from what i know, the spring can broke easily...

i actually bought the old version. but the old one cant read my microsd card, so i bring it back to the shop and change. lucky for me, he changed it with the the version.

i bought it from a shop at S&M.

You can change the chinese firmware to the english one.

Hi guys,
I wonder so many people got R4 with thier DS, how are those original game going to sell ? Everyone can get a piece R4 rather than the original game seprate in few pieces.
What is the actually different between the game storing in R4 and the orginal copy. ?

I got my R4 to run homebrews like the DSOrganize and to play mp3 n movie files. Now I can show off to people that I have an all in one gadget. Furthermore, I can skin my ds so that it looks cool I like to experiment...and since I am in the education field, I'd like to expose the homebrew field to my students so that they will hv fun in programming small apps and widget. (but first i got to finish my phd T_T...i'm on study leave now..hohoho).

btw, here's my ds with R4 skinned with Aurora Vista theme.
