Thinking of getting a Land Cruiser 300 (2021 onwards), which has gone from RM900k to RM600k for the ZX/GR versions.

From what I see on mudah a RM600k ZX Petrol comes with HUD, Active Ventilated Seats (2 rows), and Lane Following/Safety System. Mentioning these as the LC200 did not have these features despite being a RM400k+ car at the time.

I can only think of the BMW x7 @ RM650k as the closest competitor. Advantage would be the soft-close doors and air suspension.

Just wondering what others think of the LC300 ? Is it worth while to consider ? Probably will only do 1% off-roading, otherwise mainly on A/B roads (no highway).

Quite surprised that the LC300 no longer has Height Control.

Also some consideration as well on re-sell value. After 5 years the LC300 may still be able to sell for RM250k+ ? but BMW to actually sell may be less than RM100k? I'm also assuming the LC300 is as trouble-free as Toyota used to make them

U can just forget about the X7.

Land cruiser is trouble free and at any time if you wanna increase your off road from 1% to 50%, no problem..

go ahead and get one soonest. Pls update this thread again once u get it

Happy for you !

Why not save the money get a brand new XC90 instead. You save 160k already. You dont need to spend 160k to maintain the car, since it's new and it's under warranty for 5 years. 2018 XC90 going for around 170-180k. There, you save in depreciation, 350k for land crusier vs 260k.

Those are just repair bills waiting to happen. Bills aside, what will be annoying is that the car is out of service. I like my stuff to be available when I want to use it.

I guess it’s down to your intention and what you want. If you care about resale just close eyes forget about anything not Japanese and buy Toyota.

Anyway I don’t see people buying Land Cruisers worried about resale value. They have no intention to sell and just keep using it as workhorses. Early 2000s model with the 2UZ.

don't people who have 600k cars have the most time to waste ? blush.gif otherwise who will join those exotic car gatherings or make youtube videos

anyway, resale value because hopefully EVs remain tax free & charging situation improves so I can get a Rivian R1S or whatever the equivalent is in a few years. if the Land Cruiser continues to hold its value as the LC100 & 200 did, then I'm basically just paying for fuel by the time I sell it off.

some trips need to drive 500km in 1 stretch, so no EV for the time being. no charging stations along the route atm

an update, held off on the LC300 for a few months to see if I still "needed" the car.

got an offer for LX600 for ~690k so went for that instead with the main advantage (for me at least) over the LC300 being the select able ride height.

trying to find someone who is able to update the head unit / map to MY version though

Congratz. I remember LX600 first arrival here costing as much as RM1.1m. What spec is your LX600? Quite cheap. But the 3.5l twinturbo V6 is quite nice.

thanks ! yeap during the early days even Land Cruisers 300 were asking for RM800k+

spec-wise mine dosen't have the mark levinson sound system (strange I know, because I haven't found an online configurator that sells it without ML) and no rear seat entertainment. mileage around 10k km so another reason why it was "cheaper" than the rest.
