Migrating from old phone to new can be indeed a pain in butt.

If u use a Xiaomi phone, can try the Mi Mover app to lessen the hassles.

There may be other phone migration apps out there, but this is the only one i know about.

Ask them go to the bank and request token. Or buy a cheap phone.

You think everyone got the time to go to the bank during work days to collect it no need to work?

You are the banks and you serve your customers not the customers serve you.

How about you create a app version of your secure tokens? Just with that function nothing else? I would be happy to use the website version of the bank portal on my PC.

But how am I going to get my secure OTP/OTC now when your app don't even work at all during the weekends? shakehead.gif

Bank had been giving out notice for a long time now, you missed that? your fault then. If your bank didn't giving early notice, just close the account and go to a better bank.

Anyone here using banking apps on your old Android phone but locked out because not allowed to update your apps anymore because you don't have Android 10 above?

To name a few:

PB Engage
UOB TMRW
CIMB Clicks

All cannot access anymore but funny thing is that their Singapore version all still supports Android 8/9.

Why the banks making it so inconvenient to their users? You say security then why their Singaporean branches overseas still adopt older versions and still consider their app safe?

Not all Malaysians can afford to change phones all the time and what is wrong with supporting older Android 8/9? You expect people just to change phones and accommodate your demands?

We are customers you serve us, why already did away with SMS TACs with Secure OTC not enough?

Who is the developer who suggested this silly idea to the banks? Even Singaporean banks also still support older Android version and consider their apps safe.

app based secure TAC is more secure than SMS.
but i do not agree with banks implementation which every bank has their own version.

they shud tap into something common, for example, google authenticator which is more secure than their own secure TAC implementation & i dun hav to install their intrusive app.

With Banking and e-Transaction apps? No thanks. Automated migration apps using this method is very unsafe idea.

I wouldn't mind other apps and have thought about this risk.

They are forcing people's phone to become obsolete with their users to change phones every few years. This is big money with phone manufacturers.

Dirty tactics.

You sure they bodo? They can afford to hire better talents than us with their strong currency. People think very carefully before implementing new things not to inconvenient and cause difficulties for their customers.

Don't want to buy cheap phones they're even a bigger security threat if their firmware and ROMs are not properly designed.

My Android 8/9 phones are all Qualcomm SD based chipsets and branded.
