I did this change from 100Mbps fiber to UHome 5G. Previously can save more when I add sub line of 38. But now not allowed and have to spend more for UHome 5G.

1. What’s the purpose of switching? To save money? Then better go for Unifi 100Mbps RM89. I list down all the cons below.

2. Your usage describing seems ok for 5G but remember no torrent for Uhome 5G unless with VPN.

Cons:
1. Even when I get speeds of 300-400Mbps down, I can’t reach 37.5MB/s or 50MB/s. Try to do it with your phone / hotspot see if you can reach similar. Speedtest doesn’t yield same speed in downloads for me. Or use other Speedtest like with https://speed.cloudflare.com/

2. Upload speeds are horrible. You are getting maybe 20Mbps to 50Mbps max.

3. You will need to invest in a new 5G router.

4. Limited to 1000GB FUP quota. It’s tough to hit this for casual usage but not nice to have this limitation on back of your head.

5. Can’t torrent without VPN.

Note: Using Yes Flexi 5G bypass Con 4 and 5. But Yes Flexi 5G is less usable. Heard that the ping and upload speeds are worse with Yes. I hate Yes as a company and avoid them like a plague.

Wonderful insight, thank you.

Yes you got it right, want to switch to save money. Occasionally I would have to download some videos (Google Drive) for work so I figured the extra download speed via 5G will be helpful, vs 100MBps fibre. How's the speed with google servers btw?
My 5G speedtest on cloudflare is only 400MBps ish. I'm using Digi btw.
I'm fine with 50Mbps upload speed and torrent restriction.
I heard the same thing about Yes 5G being less usable... but I would probably try both first.

Go for it.

I terminated 2 x Maxis RM89 package in 2 different locations. That was the 30mbps DL. Now running YES Flexi for both sites. 200mbps speed easy downstairs from router. Next to router ~400mbps. UL is 50mbps best. Usually hovering around 20mbps but I don't need much UL speed.

The only problem seems to be heat. My 2nd location is very hot and humid, and the X50-5G would need to be restarted everyday. NX510v needs to be restarted less, but happens to both. I wonder if I disable the WiFi would it be less hot, and use a normal router for WiFi duties.

Sadly the TP-Link twins do not have a USB port so I cannot easily add a fan for it.

Standalone, NX510v has a wider wifi coverage versus X50-5G. I think if you do not need/want mesh, NX510v is better, but it also costs more.

Thanks for the insight.
Coincidentally, the 5G modem router I'm looking to buy is the Deco x50 5G since I can pair it with my XE75.
Having to restart it everyday is troublesome though.
Did you experience a lot of downtime with Yes Flexi?

You guys happen to know if there are issues with ip cameras? I use EZVIZ

No downtime so far almost 3 months. Just occasionally need to restart the CPE. My normal location, restart maybe once a week. The hot and humid location almost everyday.

Not the CPE’s fault. X50-5G operating temperature is 40C ya as per spec. My location is easily 40C. No airflow and radiant heat.

Don’t take my feedback out of context and say it sucks 😂

I'm using x50 5G paired with 3 X50 POE wifi mesh since 5 months ago...so far no issues with my EZVIZ, 6 of them and also my smart home system.

Hello guys!

My maxis fibre has been down for three weeks so today I got a prepaid umobile card and upgraded it to the home fibre plan

It works okay, but it keeps dropping to 4G and not going to back 5g, no matter how many times I reset.

It goes to 5g randomly and stops a few minutes later

I’ve put the sim in a galaxy fold 4, connected to my ASUs router usb sharing

Even when disconnected from the router the 5g doesn’t last longer than 5 minutes

Anyone else having the same problem or know how to fix this issue?

When I for 5G NR only, it says no service

I'm not sure about Samsung but I've noticed on my Xiaomi, if you turn off the phone screen and put it into sleep, it likes to drop from 5G down to 4G
My guess it is to save battery

check in settings I suppose

Hi guys. I wish to ask if anyone use Olax G5010 here.

May I know how it is doing so far?

Saw the features advertised:
-Support feature lock Band
-Support feature change imei & TTL
-Support feature bypass battery
Are these features working?

Thanks in advance for your info.

Hello

Does anyone know what will happen if I cancel the sim before the month is over? Like after only 1 week of usage?

The app shows rm-71 for me

Do I still need to pay the whole 68? I just started but they gave me a billing date one week from now

I can’t seem to get the 5G to work consistently

You did not buy prepaid to test out before going postpaid?

Can try to cancel but probably need to pay 1 month advance first before terminating the line.
You will overpay them, after 1 month of termination they will send you the final bill on how much you overpaid them (negative balance) and you will need to call hotline to claim from them.

It’s a phone actually 💀 extra fold 4, was using it solely for hotspot

I googled and there are many similar issues with other Samsung device (5G symbol flickering and then staying in 4G) but the sims 5G doesn’t work on my iPhone too

I wonder who are they rebranding
But AX1500 seems kinda...low?

Also odd of them to go with something else instead of their own recommendations of those few ZTE models

Yeah that could be the problem

We had an extra galaxy fold 4 at home

Connected that to an ASUS router and used usb tethering to share to whole home

Can get 300mbps when 5G was working for a few minutes then it refuses to connect again
