somehow i feel a picture in your linkedin profile helps, recruiter can see what you look like.

97% of my job offers, interviews comes from Indeed, Jobstreet, MyFuturejobs and other job portals.

I applied tons of jobs thru Linkedin and not a single company called me to invite for interview.

In certain situation, there's 1 company that advertise vacancy in Linkedin and Jobstreet. The recruiter called me and mentioned they received my resume from Jobstreet.

So I have no idea how Linkedin works so that's why I deleted the account. I didn't get the benefit of using the platform

I already build in profile in Linked, but hardly tried.

I guess I am old fashioned, kept on trying jobstreet.

You guys, what is your success rate for Linked?

I also have this issue about Linked, it has no salary expectation.

so I may apply for a position that has salary expectation way lower than mine.

also if the applicaiton is rejected, does linked inform you the status?

I have my profile in LinkedIn.

I didn't apply for any jobs.
Job agents come look for me.
If I like the job scope, then only apply.
I let the agent help me negotiate the salary package.
The agent can negotiate better than me 😁

Most of my interviews in the last 5 or 6 years were from LinkedIn. Some I applied (when I was unemployed) and some headhunted by recruiters.

That said, I am hardly active on LinkedIn. It's becoming more like FB (which I have deactivated years ago), some posts are just ridiculous.
It used to be a great place to discuss ideas, keep up with current tech and all that stuff.

they won't know if u don't put up ur cv on the internet.

Headhunter dun need cv kinda shits to select good person, as cv is for those who are looking for job.

Its totally different between a person who is 'looking for job' and a person who is 'headhunted by headhunter'.

The latter is headhunted without the use of cv, but instead, through the use of results, performance, reputation and recommendations by ppl.

linkedin is used to headhunt for high level managerial or technical positions. don't bother "applying" for jobs listed there, but wait for headhunters to contact you.

careful most job websites will farm for profiles then sell data
this is essentially how must headhunters survive and collect cv.

profile and cv must be of quality, easy to scan, relevant industry terms and jargon.
best customize to each job that you apply.

If you have the skill and experience, companies and head hunters will contact you for offers. No need to hunt for job.

Yah, so I hear. Even being one of the best in my field also need to advertise in LinkedIn. However not all can afford you if being the best too, esp in MY.

MyFutureJobs is National Employment Portal under PERKESO and MOHR. They have Employment Services Officer that will support jobseekers to look for suitable vacancies and help to build up their resume without any charges.

Linkedin is just a place for a bunch of hypocrites to flex their muscles. You can try Indeed, much more effective
