Serious answer? Real tempura fried with panko.
No panko is not tempura. It's just fried stuff. |

Tempura is a typical Japanese dish that was originally introduced to Japan by the Portuguese in Nagasaki through fritter-cooking techniques during the 16th century. The dish usually consists of seafood, meat and vegetables that have been battered and deep fried.

Nugget is definitely not tempura. I categorize tempura as the coating system. You can have a tempura coated nugget, tempura coated brinjal but nugget itself is just a small piece of something (meat, gold?).

Make it simple. Tempura nuggets have hard smoother shell.
![]() The normal nuggets is breaded and has coarser texture. ![]() But both can have same shape & type of meat inside. This post has been edited by netmatrix: Jun 20 2023, 05:11 PM |

QUOTE(netmatrix @ Jun 20 2023, 05:14 PM) I think it's due to air-fried no extra oil to keep the moisture in air away from the crunchy food. Oil fried food, the oil will keep the moisture away hence the longer lasting crunchiness. |
