Apa u compare some subaru xv or whatever wx or xzx with golf, a car that has been worked on for 30-40 years, a car that’s the pinacle top model for Volkswagen (who owns audi, lambos and a shitton of other lux car make).

Like it or not, a VW Golf has all efforts poured into it, making it the best car in vw lineup, hell the price for vw golf r is 430k before OTR ok, and u won’t even have stock even if u got money buy now, golf has all the trickle down r&d from their other lux subs. Open an audi bonet and you’ll see lots of part is used for vw, open vw bonet and lots of part is audi. Of course only talking about golf r la.

But, still don’t discount a gti, with just a stage1 tune, 310-320hp & 450-470nm torque, that + a tried and proven chasis, beats the shit outta any car in it’s price range. (Latest 300k 330i bmw with 250hp, heavy, bad sedan handling also have to step aside yo).

Just send to dsg motorsport, project a, quattro zone, and they can easily flash these car under 4-5k, these workshops more specialized and better workmanship then conti’s official SC.

Golf GTI & R is supposed to be the best hatch there is. But somehow it is not passing a lot of stupid reviewer tests. People still go towards Type R or GR Corolla.

Almost no no talks about Megane RS these days. The 1st version RS250 is still good, but the price still hovers around RM70K. I think this one is probably a better deal than most used hot hatch. 2.0L with turbo and 2 doors.

The WRX is no longer the 90's WRX STI when Colin McRae won with it. There are no longer STI version of WRX from what i read. It is a capable car no doubt. But its not going to win stupid reviewers test.

For the moment if you have RM300-400K to spare on a hot hatch, its either Type R or GR Corolla.

Question if it’s faster than type r ? Definitely not if stock. Is it more fun to drive ? Compare to type r ? Likely not because thier 4wd system is meant to keep the car planted in and out of corner vs FF cars has more drama with torque steer and shit

1. Golf is the mature one, but not the best track and handling, but great for the road usage. Interior is murderously bad
2. Type R is the king
3. Hyundai is the close 2nd, bit win in terms of price vs performance
4. GR Corolla is the worse, for Malaysia badge only matters
5. Subaru said to be good too, but did the Subaru thing and blow up before can finished
