QUOTE(coldfusionpower @ Oct 20 2007, 01:53 PM) u can just go to naza. they have those reconds bike . most of the bikes are fitted with plenty of aftermarket parts .. worth it .. Thing is that I heard the Ducatis (especially the older ones) are much more high maintainence costs than say the Japanese inline 4s, i know my inline for kwaker is very low maintainence (then again there isn't that many miles on it anyways). Apparently the 916-996 are quite high.. can anyone confirm this?or do u want a ducati 916 biposto ? 43k ..just change timing belt. not sure about the year tho .. |

ducati's uses timing belts ... change the belts are around 4-5k .. that what my friend said la . he's previously uses Ducati Monster 600 .
for me , honda engine last longer . kawa not sure. CBR919 does uses some weird stuff that only that bike uses so abit high maintenance.i know . i using one .. LOL .. the spark plug is weird design. only CBR900,919 uses it. |

500cc and above. or full B class license.
TS, if you've got the guts and $$ to spare, go for suzuki hayabusa instead. this is one hell of a bike. and the ride height is more towards an asian size too! |

Malaysia is the most expensive country to own a superbikes.
Even in Singapore their tax structure for superbikes is lower than car. |

R1 might cost around 70k - 100k I`m not sure
usually bike are measured by cc. and for lower cc bike also measured by chassis type (underbone) <400 Sport <750 SuperSport <1300 SuperBike >1300 SuperTanker but sometimes in the west they dont call a 1000cc bike as a superbike, coz some of them say superbike is the one which is racing on the track. the sexiest superbike? Ducati 999 the most agile/best handling? Ducati 999 most torque? Ducati 999 the best sound/howl? Ducati 999...V Twin ma.... argh...cant help it...Duc 999...Duc 999...Fila Edition summore... ![]() I love Duc 999 |

Indeed it is cheap to buy a superbike in Singapore. Much cheaper. But there are a few complications on bringing it in to Malaysia. Since bikes don't get dealership plates - you can't simply bring it back into Malaysia. |

better buy malaysian superbikes than buying outside ... for track use, go for singapore bikes. thailand bike is not as good as it sounds. yeah they are master of fiberglass fabrication but most of their wiring work are louzy. as long it function, done ... sigh .. i talk from experience ..

even the 600cc bike the engine maintain at 5k rpm + at decent cruising speeds, then again the 600cc supersports are significantly more powerful. I would recommend a VFR if your going to travel to Johor-KL alot. the comfort level for ZX-6R by far not as good as VFR. It is worth the extra money imo. it will make ur ride much more comfortable, not to mention VTEC. I hear vfr the fuel economy not so bad also, its the benchmark sports tourer, can still tapau pretty much everything on the road except like other superbike and the odd lamborghini.

Please guide me. 1. both also the same. if regular serviced .. but i would say sportbike parts cost more .. 2. sport touring. the torque maybe less abit but able to maintain high speed with the comfort .. problems.. depends on the age of the bike and condition. if condition was ok and sparepart easily get with regular service, no problem . before diving into the sbk world, do remember that oil change need about 3-4liters so imagine u are using a rm50 per bottle .. then the o-ring or x-ring chain , sprocket , tires are usually above rm500 for new ones, etc .. a new bike with regular service can last 5-7 years problem free. my estimation only la .. I know this is the wrong place to ask but I am now considering getting a 150/250cc bike. I need to know how much will maintenance cost me annually. If you could provide me figures for petrol consumption, that will be great.
The bike I'm looking at currently is Kawasaki Kips 150. |

dunno bout the price not but i dont think will exceed 9K.
go for the new KIPS if u want 2stroker with the best power, engine durability and best fuel/2t consumption of all 150cc 2stroker. my KIPS been loyal to me from day 1. just then, coz i`m racing, i betray my own promise that i`ll keep her stock standard. now modified, quit racing and no way back to turn it stock. yeah. keep it stock. use good 2t oil (Penzoil Marine enuff,or MRT) i`ve been racing using Marine/MRT. do take good care of the KIPS coz replacement part will cost u bomb coz there is no imitation part, only original. any question regarding new KRRZX150 feel free to ask bro well..not so new anymore... |

ah no. u wont get that sticker here. here KRR is Ninja. and ZX is..forgot already...thats the 1st thing i change when i got the bike
annual maintainance? normal la gearbox oil (better use gearbox oil coz 2stroke need oil only to lubricate gear set..of coz bike gearbox oil) and normal wear and tear example chain, tyre, bulb, brakes, the most common problem for KIPS is stucked powervalve. dun worry if u know how it just take 10 minutes to clear it fuel consumption..er..not sure la..i can get around 250km with full tank of rm17 (old price) and my bike is modified bro. of coz not always rembat if always full throttle for sure oil will turn to water easily 2t b4 modified i can get around 900km per liter the 1st thing I do after i got my bike is..the one almost all other want to avoid : I go full speed at Karak Highway. and my bike piston only destroyed after a failed modification test |

Hmmm can you guys recommend a bike(more to performance but not until the fc like car lah.) for budget between 10k to 20k?The specs of the bike also and how many cc. With the recent fuel hike damn tempted to ask parents permission to get a bike hahah. My eyes now on cbr150....but feel like finding a better performance one haha around 600cc is in budget.
PS:This is all talking purpose only cause I dun think parents would agree. This post has been edited by Lim Ling Yang: Jun 17 2008, 07:13 AM |

QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Jun 17 2008, 07:55 AM) kawasaki ninja 250r should be a better choice due to kawasaki's proven pedigree.i personally test ride the the blade 250, well, it look bigger than the kawasaki ninja, but the top speed is nothing to shout about. i only managed 14+ km/h at open road and the engine feel like it can't go any further. any blade 250 owner can comment on this? ps; maybe i am expecting to much. can easily go above 250km/h in hayabusa. but even a slighty modded tzm 150 easily hit 150km/h. been naughty on both machine before This post has been edited by yngwie: Jun 17 2008, 12:26 PM |

bloody superbikes still cost so darn expensive.
get rid or lower the import taxes or something... 10 years ago, kapchai's cost about 4k, now, they cost more than 4k! 10 years ago, a 150cc bike cost about 6k, now they cost up to 10k! something doesn't smell right... |

if I can a superbike of 600cc also will be satisfied. Can go up to 250km/h that will be nice. Crusing speed of 140km/h is no prob for 200km i think

QUOTE(EyraYus @ Nov 5 2008, 10:21 PM) Weii yg tibai R1 sampai 240km/h tu bukan ko ke..?? Yes...like you said....what use to have a big bore perfomances bike but ride at only modest 50km/h...if Kapcai or scooter can laa...but if sportbike(600 is enough to prove this)ride below 140km/h.....kompom the bike will feel really heavy & hard to steer...with your hand & feet getting really sick & hot.... BTW,I almost getting a GSX-R1000 K5 before(before ramadhan)......but the damn thing is when the time I got money, suddenly every K5 in the showroom is sticked with small noted(booked/sold) So now I need more $$$$ than before...The brand new,old stock K5 at NAZA was quoted at RM77,500,but since it was sold out....got no choice but rather to work for more $$$$(at least around RM95K so I can enjoy spankin new bike) At that time my budget was around 60-70K so I consider the price was OK for what it worth....but now the only choice is for second hand again or waited for another year for new arrival.... |

There was some driving school that provide you with other bike for B full license rather than normally use XV535....
Telatin Mewah at near Pasar Besar Gombak use ER6F/N model for B full......the coach was use BMW F800 & CBR900RR.... But I dunno how much it cost there...I do my car license there....now I take my B Full at SKEM.....the place where I get my B2... |

The maintainance for 600cc superbike high or not ? I think RM2k not enough to buy a new 600cc superbike. Second hand superbike i think is worse cause more repair need to be done.
So any news for ckd of 600c 4 stroke 4 cylinders ? |

Second hand superbike i think is worse cause more repair need to be done. theres no ckd version of sports I4 600cc...the cheapest 600cc in market was Kawasaki since Kawasaki has authorized dealer here(Kawasaki Sunrock)So any news for ckd of 600c 4 stroke 4 cylinders ? ZX636 04' model was around RM46K...... ...BTW,secondhand SBK around year 2000-present might be good due to prices with crazy tax....most of the owner rather keep it as new or doing a weekend ride only..... ....haiihhh...atleast getting a 600cc can make you smiles & satisfied for 4-5 years depend on how brave your are to find its limit.....unlike 250cc sportsbike that will put a smile on your face for maybe 6 months?thats what I have been through....& quite regret it for now due to the fact, that 250cc high revving I4 can only produce it power until you whack the throttle at 10k....which is if you not satisfied anymore like myself you will gassed it hard all the times.....& then the maintainences is more than most of 600cc out there... Now my battery & starter givung a probs....no more riding until I got times to fix it..... |

Looking at this thread discussion, now I gatal again for bikes. From my teenage progression of RXS, Enduro175, RD250, RD350YPVS & Ninja 900 was my experience with plenty of scars to show for it until early 90's. Always wanted to own a Ducati 916 or so but till today still have intention to play one but I think the confort level is not to the level for my cranky back & bones after owning a BMW R1100GS between 99' to 02, damn chun comfortable bike for long travels & Klang Valley town use as it's considered very light in relation to its 'cc'. But still a Duc' is a Duc' which is definately my next target.

My 2 cents opinion here. |

Maybe its a vehicle confiscated by Malaysian customs and later on sold to the public. Thats explain the registration year eventhough the bike is 80's model. Saw a GSX750-N '93 open for tender for RM400 and 3 months later someone try to sell the same bike for RM20k at mudah.com, and its a 2008 registered. |

It was the same in anyway with the duke. the only differences are the rims and sticker. Duke got sport rims while SM got normal rims. everything else is the same.. 690 Duke The 690 Duke gets a sharp new suit and more muscle underneath. It's the most powerful LC4, thanks to an airbox and exhaust system that bump peak output to an alleged 65 horsepower at 7500 rpm. Fly-by-wire injection fuels a riot of acceleration. Braking and cornering are equally fierce, and a vibe-canceling balance shaft means the Duke can be caned to an indicated 115 mph with minimal discomfort. The bolt-upright riding position is the big drag there. Better to make up some time in the bends, where the Duke's lightness, quick steering and capable suspension make for rapid, entertaining progress. The Duke can be thrown into turns with a tweak of that wide Magura handlebar with nothing on the deck but a boot toe and the sticky Dunlop Sportmax radials. Stopping is just as immediate. Brakes deliver instant bite, if not quite enough control, but that's the Duke: mad, bad and always entertaining. Wait for nextyear models.......(this is why I really hate with Japs bike manufacturers lately...every 2 or 3 years their changes to a spanking new model for popular SuperSport & Litrebike class.....so if you stuck between 1-2 & half year before you can buy the bike.....better to wait for new model arrive, unless if you prefer to have the old model & saving abit more of the $$$$....dont worry post 2000 & nowadays modern bike are tooo fast already under twist of throttle.... The bugger headlight look quite shitty rite but who knows maybe it look nice after see in flesh.....but the innovation of ram air beneath the extruded faked front light is quite impressive indeed..... BTW,weird front headlight seems to become a new sensations in supersport design after short time lifetime per model is taking over the trend..... the most affordable bikes were kawasaki ninja 250 and er6-naked. both were ckd version price at 19k for ninja and 29k for er6n brand new,(the cheapest brand new superbike in malaysia) the price is so attractive but i don like naked bike, i hope kawasaki bring in ckd er6 f which is fairing with similar price, i definately go for it.

Something to share:
--Milan Kundera also noted that "speed is the form of ecstasy the technical revolution has bestowed on man"; unlike a runner, "when man delegates the faculty of speed to a machine" such as a motorbike, "from then on, his own body is outside the process, and he gives over to a speed that is noncorporeal, nonmaterial, pure speed, speed itself, ecstasy speed." Not all motorcyclists have a "need for speed", but many do. Speed draws many people to motorcycling, because the power-to-weight ratios of even low-power motorcycles rivals that of an expensive sports car. The power-to-weight ratio of high power sport bikes is well beyond any mass-production automobile. All for a fraction of the price of those automobiles. from Milan Kundera, the author of famous The Unbearable Lightness of Being, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting. |

Not sure wanna take the 2009 model or the 2010. i recommend suzuki gsxr 1000 or hayabusa....gsxr have device(forgot the name) that can control cc....actually its about control the flow of the fuel and the engine power...it can reduce to 600cc to 750cc n back to 1000cc....really good for cornering....It's good to see many ppl liking superbike nowadays Have fun riders ! Ride safely this is just my opinion |

hey guys, i've just acquired my b-full a few months back & was busy working. but now seeing like i'll be around kl for some time i've been planning to buy a bike.
for now i've got my sights set on honda shadow (19k nego, taiping secondhand), honda rebel(still searching), & modenas jaguh(2.8k+ nego near my house). i'll be using it to travel about kl/melaka/somewhere further and also for weekend rides.. etc. (i work on weekends.. wtf) truthfully speaking, while learning to drive at the driving school, the virago type cruiser/easy rider bikes have captivated me up to a point that i no longer consider buying an ordinary kapchai anymore. the thunderous roar of the virago(although only 250cc).. really syok giler~ overall i prefer second hand... and above 250cc. but my budget at max only about 10k. anyone got any lubang? feel free to pm. thanks, -ben |

lolol that point is actually bothering me very very much.
ofcourse i would prefer to get 600cc & up but the price aspect is killing me. unless anyone here got lubang to get it... i dont mind... but for now, since i'm just starting out, i'll take the jaguh most likely... u know, start small~ besides... i'm working now earning a meager salary, later gonna go back to study in september.. need to CUT COSTs... so... hehehehehehhe |

on the ninja 2008 aa, the same quarter of a century proven engine, the inline-2 248cc, but it has a shim instead of a tappet rocker. Improvement, the valve clatter is quieter A BIT ONLY. Its really menggangu perasaan, haha! te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..te..however the er6n has no issue with the valve clatter, only on the 250s. My 250 rocker arm is a PIA, needs adjustment every 3000++km, otherwise it would sound horrid.

never mind that. bout Naza Blade 650, sorry, can't really comment. Neva ride one. But, the bike look nice, looks like ducati monster 696 for more reliable opinion, maybe u can read the review here By the way guys, i'm doing a survey for GPR exhaust. I would like to know, what kind of bike u r currently riding or planning to buy in the near future. GPR exhaust is planning to expand their market here in malaysia by having authorized distributor and customer service center where customer can complain, claim warranty, give feedback or ideas etc etc.. for the current owner of GPR exhaust system, u r welcome to give ur feedback. Can do so here or pm me. Thanks for your help guys. Hope can bring more performance parts for superbike world in malaysia for a cheaper price. Thanks again. |

Sorry, very much a newbie in the world of two-wheelers... in malaysia superbike is consider luxury item, so the tax is higher (also because malaysia is developing country)the z750 in UK is only 5000 pounds, thats about RM27,000 what to do... must work hard to get what we want... for me good also la, if else all the mat rempit can ride R1, cbr1000 hahaha habis la jalan... tax for bike is high.. very high... my 1st choice was the kawasaki ER6N 650cc ![]() locally assembled so cheaper la ...low tax ...about RM32,000 otr for 2009 model but its 2 silinder, so no vromm vromm sound.. but super good for beginner...highly recommended.. you pay like RM11,000 downpayment and monthly about RM350 for 5 years i think...fuel consumption also good... but must waiting long time, about 3 months to get... ramai org dah buking!!! ----------------------- waiting for my z750 soon... tunggu loan approval.. then die la bayar installment RM700+! for 5 years! im upgrading after 250cc-400cc now 750cc hopefully la This post has been edited by kawaz750: Mar 6 2009, 02:24 PM |

logically
if its legal for malaysian to buy/own and use spore bike on the road here.. all the kedai motor close down la, no one would buy superbike in malaysia think about it.. everyone can buy cbr600, cbr1000 , R1 etc.. from spore and use here... you can take bus to singapore, buy a few years old yamaha R1 for RM12,000 and ride home... tutup la welly, naza bikers, etc.... (memang boleh pakai, tapi risky...) pls also consider the following - cannot buy 1st party insurance for malaysian use. only 3rd.. if hilang or accident.. how? - limited time use on road (have to renew the COE) search google for this - insurance bla bla bla all in Sing$ ...u want to pay RM7000 one year for insurance?? and a lot more things to consider... but if you work/study in spore, buy the bike, and balik kampung with the bike.. then its legal but must present Spore driving license to the JPJ/polis malaysia if kena tahan laa pening jugak la This post has been edited by kawaz750: Mar 7 2009, 03:28 AM |

No. You need to return to the border every 3 month (I think) to renew the license to ride it in Malaysia.
And our custom here is not happy about it too |

He said actually the bike's height can be lowed a bit. too high for me the pick up quite good didnt like the sound RM50,000 otr ------------------------------------ No comment about the sound though, but i think aftermarket pipe like GPR or akrapovic can improve the sound tremendously. I'm worried i cant handle a superbike . Taikor's here please guide me . If i just listen undang means L license can i drive a superbike around?? bro i think superbike is 600c and above....(yeah all got clutch and gear except for scooter la) -yup got 500cc scooter!what you mean is 150cc (like CBR150) and 250cc (like NINja 250r) sure got clutch and gear... go to the driving school and register, they will teach you how to ride.. if you got "L" b full license (go to class only)- you can ride bike with any cc (means what ever bike also can), but cannot have pillion renew 3 month, or 6 months if you take license up to B2 (must take test)- you can ride only up to 250cc (can have pillion) renew once a year Added on March 19, 2009, 11:27 amor take B full license.. renew also once a year (unlimited cc) but harder to pass la ============= prices to consider: cbr150 - about RM9,0000 ninja 250 - about RM20,000 yamaha FZ150 - about RM7,500 i would recommend the yamaha fz150 its cheaper.. and got fuel injection.. (save fuel) but top speed = 140km only good for everyday ride ![]() and its quite new in malaysia road Added on March 19, 2009, 11:31 amand it got clutch and gear also... to get L license, i think u have to listen to ceramah + ride about 3 hours. If you got u P license already, that means that u have already had a proper riding training except ur license is 'lesen terbang' one..
if not mistaken, 'superbike' only apply to motorcycle with 500cc and above engine. All 150cc and above have clutch. Its quite easy to master clutch. only a few times can use it already. Try to take smaller bike first. Cubchai 1st. Learn to ride properly. then after u gain ur confident, u can move to bigger cc like 150 or 250. |

try to ride a bicycle first.. and then starts with small bike, dont simply jump to the big bike. if u cant ride 125z properly, im very sure that u cant handle the power of any sportsbike, what more a superbike

QUOTE(RCrex @ Mar 19 2009, 05:00 PM) wanna ask i would suggest u go to track..if sprint super bike in kl high way, izzit high risk? coz i thinking to get cbr1000 for weekend "karmen rider" purpose : reason: 1. KL highways are always packed with cars. There's a lot some stupid drivers, drive slowly on right lane. But u still can sprint during nite time/early morning(2 or 3 am) but, night time, ur vision is limited -> more dangerous. 2. KL highways are well known 4 bump and jalan tak rata + lubang here and there. this one is super dangerous too.. so, take ur bike to track..u'll enjoy every second of it.. |
