This is the new EX30, Volvo's smallest fully electric SUV and it's also the fastest Volvo ever. Priced from EUR 36,000 (about RM177K), the Volvo EX30 comes in either single or twin-motor variants.

The twin-motor all-wheel drive version delivers 315kW (428hp) and it can do 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds. As a comparison, the bigger Volvo C40 has 402hp and it does 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds. If you want the longest range, the single-motor EX30 Extended Range version with an NMC battery can deliver up to 480km on a single charge.

The extended-range twin motor model can support DC fast charging up to 153kW, while the standard range version can do 134kW. 10-80% charging takes slightly more than 25 minutes. The shorter-range model uses an LFP battery which uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry while the extended range gets a NMC battery which uses Lithium, Manganese and Cobalt.

The EX30 also features a large central infotainment display with Google built-in. Besides having the full suite of safety features, the EX30 is also their first car to feature Volvo's next-generation Park Pilot Assist which can help you park in parallel, curved, perpendicular and diagonal fishbone-style parking spaces. The Volvo EX30 is also available in a Cross Country edition which has more ground clearance and features skid plates and black panels for the front and back.

Because not car buyers choose a car base solely on size. In fact many buyers want a smaller car.
The Ex30 is from a true dedicated EV platform unlike the XC40. The interior and exterior styling is also refreshing compared to its older siblings from a different mother.

But still don't justify its pricing vs xc40.. If is 30k-40k cheaper, then i might consider it.

EX30 based on news, starts at around USD 35k, XC40 recharge MSRP is 52k+.

If true, that would means the price gap when come to Msia is easily around 50k-70k lower than xc40 ... Making it at 210k +/-, slightly cheaper than the lexus UX?

Very promising. If it really comes here at an affordable price (around 200k), this will really give a lot of manufacturers a run for their money... why buy an Atto3 when top up sikit get so much more power and features?

Atto3 is different segment, but if one don't mind the size but chasing for brand, yeah this can be an option
