This is the new EX30, Volvo's smallest fully electric SUV and it's also the fastest Volvo ever. Priced from EUR 36,000 (about RM177K), the Volvo EX30 comes in either single or twin-motor variants.
The twin-motor all-wheel drive version delivers 315kW (428hp) and it can do 0-100km/h in just 3.6 seconds. As a comparison, the bigger Volvo C40 has 402hp and it does 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds. If you want the longest range, the single-motor EX30 Extended Range version with an NMC battery can deliver up to 480km on a single charge.
The extended-range twin motor model can support DC fast charging up to 153kW, while the standard range version can do 134kW. 10-80% charging takes slightly more than 25 minutes. The shorter-range model uses an LFP battery which uses lithium iron phosphate chemistry while the extended range gets a NMC battery which uses Lithium, Manganese and Cobalt.
The EX30 also features a large central infotainment display with Google built-in. Besides having the full suite of safety features, the EX30 is also their first car to feature Volvo's next-generation Park Pilot Assist which can help you park in parallel, curved, perpendicular and diagonal fishbone-style parking spaces. The Volvo EX30 is also available in a Cross Country edition which has more ground clearance and features skid plates and black panels for the front and back.
