I had stubborn cough for several months. My GP is not able to identify the root cause and referred me to hospital for further checking, but he dint mention which specialist unit should I visit. Any idea which specialist can help me to identify and provide treatment for chronic cough? Is it ENT? Thank you.

How long have you been coughing?
Any pain in your chest when you cough?
Any blood in your phlegm?
Any night sweats?
First of all, go to your nearest Klinik Kesihatan, pay RM1 only, get a chest x-ray, do the sputum test, and then get a recommendation letter to go see a lung specialist in the general hospital.

GP should have refer to Ear Nose Throat (ENT) specialist doctor as the internal passage leads to mouth and throat, with coughing as symptom.
