CelcomDigi users to experience wider 98% population coverage and faster speeds after network integration

https://soyacincau.com/2023/06/01/celcomdig...rk-integration/

It has been six months since Celcom and Digi completed their merger and they have provided more updates on its network integration efforts. Besides integrating the workforce, distribution and sales channels, the merged telco is embarking on a massive network modernisation exercise which is described as the largest network deployment project in the country involving 18,000 sites.

As a merged telco, CelcomDigi is not only the biggest telco in Malaysia but they are also the largest local-listed technology company on Bursa Malaysia. With both brands combined, CelcomDigi currently serves more than 20 million customers.

At the moment, both Celcom and Digi networks have a combined footprint of 96.4% 4G population coverage which includes 90.3% for 4G LTE-Advanced nationwide. Data consumption continues to increase with Celcom users averaging 27GB per month, while Digi users average 23GB per month as of Q1 2023.

ekceli it depends on coverage also
wider coverage (even with slower unstable line) means it reaches more place
so higher numbers do makes sense
my office here maxis tarak line langsung, but celcom can get 5G
so, it really depends on coverage and congestion

I just know both celcom and maxis is always full bar at my home and working place, and maxis is always faster than celcom there.

Maxis was good in transfer call, and call quality because their gsm and 3g was power by Erricson infra…

But after that no more…when everybody use the same technology in 4g - zte and huawei…now no difference…

It just depends who can unlock better

Been with maxis for more than 10 years .. Switched to celcom, thinking they are good enough for me to get rid of maxis

However, after one month of using shitty celcom, only then i realized i have made the wrong move! Frequent drop call, weak signal, slow connectivity, very unprofessional customer service ...

Then i decided i have had enough with them, i switched back to maxis and also signed up fiber plan too

Maxis is better still. Most reliable of all (probably the most expensive too). It's basically like Singtel.

when im having free time, not much work then i do some experiment
i budget around RM50, bought new simcards (usually comes with preloaded data)
simcards are roughly RM10-ish with few prepaid amount
the balance (or topup if needed) is enuff to buy 1 day pass for internet
1. i did speedtest on few key locations and see how the speed and coverage is
2. i did calltest (receive call) to listens for call drops and clarity
3. i try walking around my house and office during the time to see of coverage drops from 4G to Edge
i did twice each in the morning (peak time, usually 9-10am) and also at night

this is how i know which major telco suitable for my place; and choose the plan accordingly
currently im using XOX for calls (season pass is RM90 for 999 minutes) and yoodo (rm20 for 20gb data)
both riding on celcom because the coverage is quite good, with some downtime which is bareable for my usage

simple tests i did makes me happy now. my friends are riding on this info when they need to change telco
