Hi guys,

Was quoted around 4.2k for full coverage ppf for my new bike (xpel). Is that in line with market rates?

I’ve never got it done on my cars or bikes before so have no baseline to check against - couldn’t find much online for price comparison either. A couple other quotes I got was for manual fittings only, couldn’t find a precut installation option. Bike is a pani v4, mainly for peace of mind and I think factory paint finish is hard to duplicate when repainting.

Pani v4? Half a mill bike? lol

Just pay for it then. No point of asking since you can afford such bike.

Just that not all PPF are good. After few years, it will become yellow and will affect the body / paint which is much worse.

Some fellas say, better replace the PPF every year or 2 years at least. But i foresee that is not gonna be a problem for you.

ppf only protects against stone chip right?
no uv?
if so, I'd wrap the frontal part only

also, will it be 1 piece for the whole fairing or cut into section?
had a nightmare wrapping my tank with cf vinyl in 1 piece. doubt ppf is much more elastic than vinyl

Was told the pieces are precut for the bike’s fairings so only a few parts like the rear fuel tank and tail lights will need manual cutting. The rest should be one piece already cut to size.

Hi, if you looking for UV protect PPF, you can PM me, our PPF was SPF 285+, auto healing plus hydrophobic. Film is make from Germany, we direct import from German. I can said the quality as similar as Xpel, but pricing was way lower.

Today just done for this GLC using Graphtec plotter.

Go to the shop and see the cars they have worked on first before deciding. Assess their workmanship.

My wife kena edy. Sent her new Suzuki Swift Sport for full car PPF to take advantage of a promo. Sekali tengok the workmanship was ATROCIOUS, to the point of causing damage to her brand new car. Complete waste of money.

Apparently, some shops use unskilled labour to do it... luring customers using promos to provide the training necessary for their staff.

I hate to sound racist but.... if you go to a PPF shop and you see Banglas working on the cars, run the fuck away and never look back.

Bikes have a far smaller surface area than even the smallest car, but the shapes of the surfaces on a bike are extremely challenging for a neat, invisible application. There should not be any fold lines, PPF berlipat atau terkelepet esp around the curved edges. If you see any, run away.

Quick update.

Ended up just having it done. Yeah it was pretty well done, xpel has their proprietary precut ppf for most bike models.

Was rather impressed with how it turned out. If for nothing else, it makes maintaining the bike easier and piece of mind for rock chips and accidental knocks from my boot. One issue I noticed a couple of weeks back is the layer on the headlight has peeled back abit and dust has got trapped. Need to take it in to fix that as part of the warranty when I get the time.

Also be aware that damage-free PPF removal also requires skilled labour and quality PPF, otherwise it's likely to rip the paint off along with the PPF.

This happened to my wife when the Banglas tried to remove their botched PPF job under warranty.
