When come in my?

Without cellular access, the Pad 6 Pro is DOA for me, a Pad 5 Pro owner.

still no global release. waiting for pad 6 pro as my reading device.

Global will only got 6 vanilla. Pro still china only

Yes, agree quite a bummer. For gaming and media consumption; it is still a valid choice.
For my case, i use mobile hotspot.

If based on past models like Pad 5, most likely they won't have the global version for 6 Pro as well.
China version is already being sold by reputable sellers in Shopee/Lzd. Got my 6 Pro from one of them. Enjoying it so far without issues.

Not true. It is Widevine L1 certification which plays HD contents. Only downside is no HDR supported, hope this is introduced in future firmware updates.

Despite no HDR, i'm using mine with no issues. Enjoying the superb 309 PPI screen!

None from Xiaomi's offering so far for that screen size.

There may be other cheap Chinese Android offerings but would not touch even with a 10 foot pole besides Xiaomi, Lenovo ones.

Closest decent tablet is Samsung's tab S8+ but that's costly for just a screen extension.

Your best bet is getting those dedicated FHD portable monitors for cheap. <RM500+

Yup, none of the screen size u want from Xiaomi this round thus far. Only 11" this year.

I saw the price for the styles/pen is more then RM300 in shopee. Kinda surprise to be honest. A lot pricier then the previous version. Does anyone know any other cheaper alternative?

I'm curious as well, I'm actually still very happy with my Pad 5, that Snapdragon 860 is really all I need on a tablet for my usage (light gaming including a rhythm game along with PS1 and GBA emulation, general media consumption, doomscrolling).

267% price difference lol. he/she was known as trolling than serious on most posts. tbh the snapdragon 860 still ok even nowadays daily use.

Duno how to describe. The tablet seems like it was built for media consumption only. Ipad is just so much better optimized and functional. Everything just works.

Simple things like dark mode on mipad5 will screw up so many apps. Then u would need to deactivate darkmode one by one on individual apps. Totally not optimized at all

Yes a huge price difference but its totally worth it. Whats the point save money but the tablet doesnt work the way u want it to be?

If you owned a pro 6 version, you can install google play from Mi App Store. First enable google service at setting option, then download the google play from the Mi App Store.

Settings > Accounts & sync > Enable basic google service > mi app store (get apps) > search for Google Play Store > scroll until you find the Google Play store

U make me consider the 6 pro version. My phone currently with Snapdragon 8 gen 1 and I found the performance of it the best daily.

The 6 pro would be a beast to play Hokkaido Star Rail but I'm a bit worried about getting an import unit. Have never used a China ROM before too.

Glad to hear that. But you have to spend a little bit of time tweaking to make is more suitable for our market.

If I'm willing to get an import unit with no official warranty, I can also consider other tablets from China as well.

The Lenovo Pad Pro 2022 11" with the OLED screen is something I would really love the screen but only comes with the SD870 chipset...

Mi Pad 6 Pro on the other hand has a LCD display only but SD 8+ Gen 1...

Update: I knew about the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 but never realise it is as good as the SD 8 Gen 1 so I think I can consider the Oneplus Pad or Lenovo Legion or those tablets from Vivo as well..

Ideally though, I'd love to get a 11 inch or bigger 120Hz OLED tablet with SD 8 Gen 1 for under RM2k

In your opinion, it is an advantage using china rom+ Google or global rom?
Global rom looks plain but peace of mind.
China rom got nice widgets, but scare got problem like not compatible. I tried on Xiaomi 13 china, the Google translate camera can't function.

Yea, the LCD display in the Mi Pad 6 pro isn't really anything to brag about. It's a little bit dimmed for outside usage. Not sure compare about Onelpus pad or vivo pad 2. I think they are about the same.
The only reason I bought the Mi pad 6 pro is for gaming emulation. A lot of them run nicely on Adreno GPU but most GPU now days also work decently.

IMHO I would rather get Oneplus pad instead, at least you get better SOC then SD870 in the Xiaomi Pad 6. If you do need OLED screen, Lenovo pad pro 2022 (also known as Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022) maybe your other alternatives. But this tablet doesn't come with google play

mi pad put good spec with performance , value , pricing. does any model for Samsung with performance=value=price?

Grey imports are definitely gonna reach our shores but it seems like it's gonna be for China markets only.
It's tempting to get one, I do wonder if there are any limitations.
Some importers do flash Global ROM upon requests.

Just got a Mi Pad 6 (I was surprised to find out it was the 8+256, I thought it was the 6+128) for RM1499 from Urban Republic. (for a family member)

Too bad it was bent right from the factory.


Though, I must admit I like the colour. (Well, iPad Air clone?)
I think it'll come with 2 OS updates, 3 years of security updates. For that price, I think its good.


Just not sure what to make of latest MIUI. I hear it got bloody lots of advertisements.

According to seller and YouTuber flossy Carter, install Google play no problem.

Yes, that model comes with China ROM.
So far no problem, It works the same as global ROM just with a lot of China bloatware preinstall in it.
Make sure to take some time to nuke them carefully.

Most of them, some MI related app doesn't give you the option to uninstall. If you really do want to remove it, you have to go through developer mode or something. There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube about removing bloatware on china devices. A bit technical but feasible.

Just got pad 6 max 14".
China rom is fun especially the widget. Glad that it is easy to install Google playstore.
If can easily install Google, I see next time buy phone China rom.
If this were oled or AMOLED, it will be perfect

I have been using iPad before this. Interested to switch to Xiaomi Pad 6 as a replacement upgrade. But been hearing a lot about Android pads tend to get laggy after some time, compared to iPad. Anyone has previous experience on this?

I bought from Lazada reseller.

Initially wanted to buy from taobao using 3rd party sea ship.
Chances of checking maybe can avoid. But I urgently need.

After already use for 1 month, I find it not my liking and inconvenient. Maybe too use with windows function.
Like Samsung dex, quite useful alike windows.
Xiaomi PC mode not working.

Facebook, Lazada/shopee, TikTok are in mobile format. So ugly big.
I think better buy a laptop with touchscreen function. Very regret

Android dude. Most of the software are not ideally tuned and customised. Even ipad too not all are customized there.
It depend on the software developer whether they wanna put their effort into differebt resolution.
Btw, xiaomi is like huawei, which is 10 years earlier using the linux architexture to run android, and the mios is launching oct 2023.

This shop always got good voucher during major sale and good price. That Shopee voucher is always there.

The RM150 is shop voucher which only lasted a few minutes (12am) and then I use the 10% cashback voucher from shopee.

Received tablet from 12.12 sale. Come with free blue cover and it is matching with blue color tablet.

Same as mine blue color. The cover is very heavy IMO. Why you didn't use the cashback 10% voucher? You could've get an extra RM110 discount.

I used coinback 15% voucher, total coinback is 16140, equal to RM161.4. This is max discount value can get.

meh... update like no update like that.
Nothing different at all.
Expecting many changes for tablet, only cursor for mouse got different and responsive only.
The workstation mode no change at all. So hard to use. I rather use tablet mode.

getting mipad 6 for study, may I know alternative for Mi Pen2 ? Dont want getting official Pen as it's too expensive and feel like dont worth it . Was comparing Ipad 9 and MiPad 6 earlier, addicted to MiPad 6 after trying out iPad 9 , as iPad 9 is too slow and unresponsive , Mi Pad is blazingly fast , not sure whether is it due to 144hZ screen . Not sure whether Mi Pad is a better option compared to iPad when it comes to PDF annotation and notes taking.

Been in your situation. Only original pen is available for mipad 6 at rm300+
