While interior designers and interior decorators have distinct roles, there are areas where their expertise overlaps, leading to collaboration and synergy in the world of interior design.
Both interior designers and decorators share a passion for creating beautiful spaces that meet the needs and preferences of their clients. They possess a keen eye for design, understanding of color schemes, and knowledge of furniture and decor. Their shared goal is to transform a space into a visually appealing and functional environment.
Collaboration between interior designers and decorators often occurs when they work together on a project. Interior designers bring their expertise in space planning, structural modifications, and building codes to ensure the layout and functionality of a space. They create a solid foundation for the design process.
Interior decorators come in at this stage, focusing on the aesthetics and visual aspects of the space. They collaborate with interior designers to select furniture, choose color schemes, coordinate textures, and arrange decor items. Together, they harmonize functionality with style, breathing life into the design.
By combining their unique skills and perspectives, interior designers and decorators can create a cohesive and captivating interior. Their collaboration results in spaces that are both visually pleasing and purposeful, ensuring a seamless blend of design and functionality.
So, while interior designers and decorators have their respective specialties, they often come together to bring out the best in a space, transforming it into a stunning and well-designed environment.
Don't bother with interior designers .... a lot of them are "legal" scammers... and most of them are actually interior decorators posing as interior designers...Both interior designers and decorators share a passion for creating beautiful spaces that meet the needs and preferences of their clients. They prey on people who don't do any research and then charge them exorbitant amount....
They literally would charge you 2 to 4 times the cost it takes to complete the project and most of the time they just buy stuff from lazada or shopee and ship over to your house only.... a.k.a. coordinator earning big money doing the most minimal work...
My friend who is an interior designer taught me that those who aren't upfront when they provide you a quotation... or don't provide you the comprehensive list of items... descriptions and brand with individual prices or starts saying everything is OEM are normally just hoping that you give them 100% of your trust so that they could treat you as a water fish...
Seriously... a lot of them would give you that "friendly" persona until you starts to commit and pay them money...
In conclusion... if you can find a trusted designer that would not treat you as a water fish... go ahead...
Otherwise... be very careful..... or just hire a reputable contractor recommended by your friends or family...
Don't trust google ratings or recommended or atap.co ..... a lot of them have fake reviews either by friends/family or just paid reviews....
Murasaki Design is a good example.... check all the box... high rating reviews and even got award but turn out to be a scam....
There are others that aren't upright scammers but like I said... a lot of them are "legal" scammers... you would end up pay 2-4 times of what it costs which is no different from you getting conned/scam the first round then re-hire another designer since you are literally paying 2-4 times of what it would cost you if you got the right people to do the work for you the first round..
