Medical check up reveals i was hypertensive around 160/100. Keyword is WAS. Due to my kamma managed to get it below 120/80. Heres what i did for a week. 1) Stop coffee and beer. 2) Drink hibiscus tea regularly. 3) Snacking on pistachios(unsalted) 4) Take potassium citrate 10-15 ml everyday mixed with water. 5) Take 2 tablespoon of flaxseed daily. 6) Increase uptake of omega 3 like salmon and sardines. 7) Decrease salt intake. (minor but every bit helps) 8) Avocadoes All this while still in keto diet, low carb high fat. From above we can infer that low carb, increasing potassium and omega 3 intake did the trick. Shoppee banyak the dried hibiscus. put in a tea bag of some sort. it should taste quite tart/sour.. just drink it. will lower by around 10 points after 30 minutes..in my case. QUOTE(Julie Ting @ Jun 15 2023, 07:54 AM) If one week of food intake change can reduce from 160 to 120, then it means your previous food intake was really bad. Do you workout now? i everyday walk 6 to 10km prior to med check up. whaddya think?

QUOTE(Julie Ting @ Jun 16 2023, 08:20 AM) This walking wasn't stated in post #1. Since you are walking a lot, do you want to include workouts for your muscles to strengthen your body? its not posted because i was already doing it before the medical check-up....so its not a factor... walking and badminton is my thing. nothing else.

QUOTE(Mr Mercedes @ Jun 30 2023, 04:45 PM) Congrats bro. Diet plays a healthy part in reducing BP. Stress management also. Keep it up, 108/70 is a very good BP. Were you on meds previously? no meds. nope.

QUOTE(InnerHummony @ Jul 31 2023, 06:19 PM) Hi satanist, you mentioned kamma - by that, I assume that the positive outcome was achieved through your intentional actions. Would you also consider that our present state of mind would have a profound effect on achieving positive results on our health? There was a study/experiment conducted in the 1980s using rabbits as test subjects, called "Social Environment as a Factor in Diet-Induced Atherosclerosis" (big words/jargon, but worth looking up and reading through). The study highlights that high cholesterol levels in the blood were the same in all rabbits who were on the high fat diet. And that the cholesterol deposits were lesser in the arteries of those rabbits that were fed with kindness - meaning that rabbits that were less stressed were diagnosed as being healthier. So aside from the changes which you have listed, do you meditate or handle daily stressors differently, since your medical check up, diagnosis? Or it was just solely the low carbohydrate, high fat ("keto diet"), with increased potassium and omega-3 fatty acids intakes that fixed your situation? No meditation this is purely nutritional viewpoints. U can try meditation if it helps.
