Maybe its to soften criticism of losing, idk. But all athletes are as tired after their match / game also didn't keep show like this.

If you ask me in top level sports, stamina and tiredness is no excuse. You will never see Sports legends or true Champions blame losing on stamina. Most recent blame on tired / stamina is Lee Zii Jia where his fans keep protecting him say pity him so tired after playing Sudirman Cup never let him rest bla bla like how a mom would make excuses for their child's performances.

So if fans end up have to say these energy / stamina / tiredness excuses it actually directly affects the reputation of the athletes himself / herself getting a label as a lack of stamina / easy tired athlete eventually instead of their initial thoughts / plan of protecting the feelings of the athlete.
