I'm considering upgrading my 2-story terrace house in Kuala Lumpur into a 3-story one and could really use some advice.

I'm curious about the potential cost of such an extension. I've heard various figures but I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has gone through this process themselves. Can you provide some insight into the costs involved based on your own experience?

Is it worth considering demolishing vs adding the extension upstairs?

Cost will be prohibitive.. The contractor will really need to know whether the existing foundation is able to withstand the additional weight of the 3rd storey.

dont know about the extension from 2 to 3 storey.. cause your piling and foundation not sure can support to extend additional floor on top of existing structure..

but if extend to side like additional 2 storeys, around 150~200k in penang. wet work only..
