I'm thinking of selling my car. Not planning to get a new one (so no trade in).

Wondering which is the best method?

Mudah if you want every cent. Carsome/MyTukar if you want hassle-free

sometimes can nego one, like waive handling fee or sometimes they will counter-offer based on the offer you received from both side

carsome/mytukar auto process because they do everything for you and lesser risk.

I get that carsome/mytukar is hassle free

But is their offer any good? Like 2nd hand car dealer?

i sold my car at carsome.. i agree with their price to buy, then within 1 day settle.. get my money in the same day.. not sure for mytukar and mudah never sold my car there before

Carsome deal is very very good, better than a lot of Ah Beng 2nd hand dealers. Reason is because they flip it and sell it very expensive also. You can see they selling Civic FC 2018 for more than 100k when brand new was only 120k, insane.

that is what the carsome inspection is for right ? they will take detailed pics and upload onto the bidding platform for other dealers to view.. trust is already established with these 2 companies if not they will close shop long time already

I think they will beat any used car dealers as u know how local used car dealer attitude

i dunno .. i quit car trade decades ago,.. but 2nd hand car got no warranty,.. i never trust seller testimony of tip top condition,..carsome provide warranty or guarantee condition ??...

for what i know all lelong case,.. it is bid as it is,.. no matter Gov lelong car or bank lelong house,..no viewing or inspection,.

I personally found carsome to be more tedious, since have to get car checked. Also, at first they tried to lowball price, pffer better price after bidding..still got slightly better price at mudah so i sold on mudah.

Better sell yourself through mudah. I believe volvo wouldn’t get good price through dealer.

Unless you don’t mind the 20-30% difference.

u know how dealer can low ball if they find out u urgent or any reason + after sign, tell u need to pay this n that than claim that is market SOP.
for carsome/mytukur, they tell you everything before it begin and u still have choice to pull out.

And also by some car agents, freelancers who already have a buyer on hand/in waiting list for that particular car make.

But generally you’ll get higher price from bidding in carsome/mytukar la, going directly to dealer or trade-in official center where you’ll get your new car from is the worst option currently.

Best: advertise privately, direct seller:buyer, as you can use 2nd hand listed carprice as benchmark ie.carlist/motortrader bla bla.

OK la: mytukar/carsome, also because you can still reject the bidded price if u tak suka.

Worst: trade-in when buy new car.

if your car got problem just use carsoe or mytukar.

I sold to carsome. Hassle free. Got an okayish price. I mean I see other shop selling my car for 7k more but that means they would need to repaint etc plus got margin.. so I guess my price was ok enough.

Not so in my case. Carsome was the worst.

betul. i took my car to carsome, they did inspection and orffer me a price.. biasalah, nak higher sikit..
so i sendiri pergi mudah and posted my sale.
susah sikit kat mudah, sebab.. i sendiri kena entertain buyer.. and once buyer suka kereta and the price (i can get slightly better than carsome by 2K) but I have to send to puspakom for inspections and pay for their service. then I have to wait for buyer to settle the loan application, tapi rejected by bank. so, I kena tunggu again, sebab buyer akan beli cash.. tunggu tunggu.. at least 2 weeks.
carsome I heard boleh settle within 3-5 days.. they inspect, if price ok, within 24-hours boleh dapat wang. you dont have to do anything.

Long time ago I used to scan through star classifieds

since you retired, you have the time to go thru the manual way. that way you can get the best deal.. it is between you and the buyer, no middleman.

Yes, kinda irritating. Difficult to get info on process when i was there. Luckily there were runners who gave advice. Eg there is a piece of paper you have to place on the screen of your car and leave it unlocked. I didnt know so my car was just sitting there while other cars were taken for inspection. Also a worry if fail inspection.

No carsome. Agent macam lanjio. Ignore me 10 days and no return deposit. I call HQ baru gelabah.

Sold my Picanto to Carsome for 34k on bidding platform. Initially only offered 32k citing Korean car no demand etc...

Saw them selling my car for 47k now topkek. That's like just 3k shy of the MSRP price.

Nope, not many problems. In fact the handling is pretty good. Maybe just the perception in Malaysia that Korean cars = automatically bad hence Carsome use that bs to lowball the price but if you read reviews of this car there are lot of praises on it.
So far only replaced ABS sensor but that is covered under warranty.

Sold it to upgrade to a bigger car which also has all the latest safety features like AEB, blind spot monitor etc.
