bro Q,
I was hoping that 180gram of jig can reach the bottom. Just like our earlier Sun Vista trip....
bro Ice,
As what Unker says, patin wants to have a balanced diet mah...having some meat and more vege makes them healthy ma...kekek...
Jokes aside, YES patin is fishable using lures. Dont forget Patin is an insect eater too. As long as the lure looks like an insect, be it diving or floating, the Patin whacks the lure.
When i mean the lure look like an insect, it also means the lure is small(if not super small) and presenting such small lure is not easy.
What i can think about the presentation is:-
1. Little twitches to show that the insect(lure) is struggling at the water, trying to gasp for air or back to land/flying
2. Little movements to make the lure vibrating, just like a bug fell into the water. I have not learn how to make the lure vibrate on the water surface, but i manage to make some irregular vibrating feel by making the line slack. The lure that i use is a hornet which i landed a number of Peacock Bass. Maybe a maggot looking lure can work too.
3. Another method is erratic small floating lure SLIDING just like a water strider. Perhaps a small walke-the-dog lure can do the trick.
This is what i can think of as of now.
