muahahaha...bro Nico's concept tongue.gif

OR he always mentioned go market buy fish concept...kakakakka

I'm keen on this weekend's Linggi trip.... smile.gif Since no one did jigging at that water before(as said by bro Nico) hopefully jigging would produce some good results.

BTW, bro Q...no camera or photo taking in the boat...the boatman dislikes it...

Added on December 10, 2007, 9:59 ambro Tingky,
The result is on 125. smile.gif practically not good result.

Bro Nico,
Teach me how to do bottom yah. I'll bring a spare rod for bottom. Gua tatao bottom techniques.. smile.gif all the rigs and batu bata thingy...

i still dun understand about the weight thingy ler... sad.gif

Max depth 80m = 240feet = min 250gram jig
Size 16~18 weight = 700~800grams....

If ONLY 800gram of weight can reach the bottom, what about 250~300gram of jig?

If the current is strong, i think 300gram of jig pun tarak cukup to reach bottom. Surely flying kite.

Bro Q has mentioned that the 800gram of weight have bait on it thus need heavier weight to bring the bait to the seabed. The bait creates drag in the current. BUT same goes our jig. Each of our jig have their actions, in such that the jig will flutter down, or swaying down...this is also due to the drag mah...

Anyone care to debate about the batu weight vs jig weight issue?

bro Q,
I was hoping that 180gram of jig can reach the bottom. Just like our earlier Sun Vista trip....

bro Ice,
As what Unker says, patin wants to have a balanced diet mah...having some meat and more vege makes them healthy ma...kekek...

Jokes aside, YES patin is fishable using lures. Dont forget Patin is an insect eater too. As long as the lure looks like an insect, be it diving or floating, the Patin whacks the lure.

When i mean the lure look like an insect, it also means the lure is small(if not super small) and presenting such small lure is not easy.

What i can think about the presentation is:-
1. Little twitches to show that the insect(lure) is struggling at the water, trying to gasp for air or back to land/flying
2. Little movements to make the lure vibrating, just like a bug fell into the water. I have not learn how to make the lure vibrate on the water surface, but i manage to make some irregular vibrating feel by making the line slack. The lure that i use is a hornet which i landed a number of Peacock Bass. Maybe a maggot looking lure can work too.
3. Another method is erratic small floating lure SLIDING just like a water strider. Perhaps a small walke-the-dog lure can do the trick.

This is what i can think of as of now.

If you can show me a pic of what insects/nymphs patin would eat, I can tie one for you.
but another issue is whether you're able to cast it out, cost it will weigh less than 3 gms...

well, given the size of the insect, it could possible to weigh less than 2..
i doubt that a fly looking like a wasp weighs more than 2gms.. smile.gif
