just found that the Cobia also tags along the sharks and whales and rays one. their nearest cousin will be the Remora (a parasit that sticks on the sharks, rays and whales) no wonder they look almost alike.

Few years back at Yan, some angler have a serious shock when they encountered a pair of whale shark with thousands of cobia.

Well the anglers had alot of fun on that...kekeke alot of cobia landed..

ok guys.... just find out the date June hor...

skool holiday is from 24May 2008 until 8th (Sunday) June 2008...

So this my plan... 6thJune (friday nite) fly.... we back on 10th tuesday or 11th (wednesday)

we have to apply 3days leave or we come back on 10th June so

so macam sifu!!! good boh!

yeah was telling Qiw yesterday

my friend went to pekan.. no fish at all that day.. so they only manage to get a few cobia's only.

Then left 2 rods on the rod holder.. as they're packing and taking the rod from the rod holder.. amazingly 2 rods bend simultaneously..

bend so kau that the angler nearly fell off the boat and already 2 feet off the boat.. then my friend took over and fight it.. total catches.. 2 leopard shark weighing 20++ kg's sold for RM 40 per kg

he said whenever they encounter cobia's sure got shark one.. a few times already this happened in Pekan

It's quite common

it's just like dropping a jig and no action at all, the fish will not take it as the jig is not fearful of the shark or the cobias...but whenever there are any movements, WHAM! strike liao....

Same goes to freshwater like tomans.
There is such technique called pause and retrieve. When the lure paused, chasing toman will stop too. At that time, the toman checks on the lure...and suddenly it moves. WHAM! the toman strikes.

One of the best technique used and applies similarly to jerk baits..

aha... jerk baits kinda method eh.. something about the method that rapala explained to me about some other groups went to thailand for the siakaps there.

They said casting lures by plain cast and retrive does not have hook up at all.. then they asked the locals there and they thought then to use the jerkbait method.. strike after strike non stop until your arms begs for mercy to stop from the powerful might of the Barramundi's
