Not all toyota parts are cheap. Common stuff like Vios and Corolla should be able to get used from any spare part shop. Even my Lexus ES250, wiper blade + Motor can use Camry version, priced about RM450 less than Lexus version.

If you talking about JDM model parts, like those on Crown and Mark X Ninja King, especially body parts will be moar expensive than even some bimmer and merc. Mechanical parts, see whether interchangeable with local models or not if yes, can go for the local half cut parts.

My Vellfire client kena. He remembered the last time he saw it, it was red in colour. Yesterday no more red colour.

Ori won't come with cheap. Maybe there are imported Thailand parts with that Toyota holo or imprint, but not sure about the genuine status.

Other than that, if really want safe money might as well get reputable brand OEM parts. But such parts also got risks, but its worth the savings imo. Just avoid buying parts at one place and install at another workshop.

also what i heard from toyota service center, toyota only ensure part availability for 10 years after car release, after that, you are on your own. good thing about toyota were the parts were used on multiple model, so they can support it for longer.

some kilang like APM actually a supplier/contractor for the car manufacturer, if they stop ordering or order very less, they will sell the product under their brand instead. some time they even have a better over-engineered aftermarket parts.

Imported car alternator died, don't want original, but want reconditioned instead, cheap Rm300 mah, last last have to quickly get rid of the vehicle because of electrical issues.

Today morning I was at Toyota Service Center for other cases also, quotes for alternators Rm3,500~Rm4,500 excluding labour. If these owners don't listen also, they can think about disposing their imported models liao..

What is Rm4,500 compared to the costs of an imported vehicle ? Penny wise pound foolish.

Although known for many years, my client was surprised when I sent him this YouTube video. Obviously he had no idea this was going on but when I was with him on Saturday, he said he remembered seeing the workshop pouring it red in colour but on Saturday is was colourless and had lots of gunk inside also. Looks like now he has to spend on flushing out all the gunk and re-doing everything again.

I wonder how long would this new car lasts, if he carried on with the same attitude. Some people will only learn after they experience the shit for themselves or maybe some just can't learn anything.
