Looking to get a small car to replace old myvi
Wife prefer something like axia size for easy parking
Ayam thinking to get this used Polo 1.6 instead

Is there any particular issue with this batch?
Appreciate owners review.

I guest this is ckd assembled in Malaysia.
I drive a 2nd hand 2012 Polo sedan (bought in 2016, CBU from India) and like the stable ride. This is quite reliable since it is not turbo charged and has an Aisin (Toyota) gearbox. Expect more expensive spare parts unless you diy some maintenance yrself. I do my own oil & filter change. Can get parts online or go to outside workshop who knows how to work on conti cars. KL/ Selangor has such workshop.

Wana ask the Aisin gearbox is it normal sounds like rough?
I mean when depress accelerator
It felt “rough” compared to myvi from idle

It is ok sounding to me. Maybe sounds rough to you due to the car being heavy and strains the engine/gearbox. It is an excellent gearbox and "pulls" well in all 6 gears. Just make sure change gear oil at good workshop every 30K km and change with filter every 60K km. If want to save some money, 50K km and 100K km respectively is not an issue.

This gearbox is not my worry unless you drive a GTI with DSG gearbox. Furthermore, Polo is non turbo so not much worry for stressing engine too. Engine oil change yearly or 15K km but I do it every 10K km.

I cant help but ask why a used VW instead of other brands/models?

Ayam like the GTI sleek look but expensive and worrisome
So a used Polo (non turbo) is the affordable one

Axia was first choice but the Japan steel thing think twice

And dont forget the car may be cheap but even conti general wear & tear maintenance cost can be a problem if you didnt do your research & budgeting thoroughly.

I presume this will be a regularly used car? Then definitely you would want one that lets you and your wife sleep well at night. Can a used VW give you this assurance?

Her office is nearby daily less than 10km drive
Weekend ride will be using my car
So expecting low mileage wont hurt so much on maintenance..
Past few years not yet seen a VW broke down on road side kot
