Actually I prefer driving at night especially when navigating lots of junctions. The lights will alert me to approaching vehicle, and I will anticipate this stupid behaviour and adjust accordingly.

u all got my points right..speeding is culprit number 1. but many here do not agree. In fact malaysian is too ego to admit, speed does bring fatality.

people can met accident everyday. but most important is aftermath. those machine such as car or bike. who cares, if the machine is damage. can throw claim total loss. but body dont have spare parts. once cacat, cannot repair.

he will be around 70m away, when the moto is at the junction, still not yet out
and 70m away from impact looks like this





I did simple calculation, approx 2.5 sec for moto to come out from junction to arrive to impact point

so 2.5secs from impact, the BMW is approx 70 meters back

so far also cannot see moto, is blind or simply inattentive and speeding

actually i hope this becomes a wake up call to motobodo for them to not feeling entitled on the road... but then looking at this tered and know how msia work, motobodo will get support and the bmw driver will go to jail. and we continue drive on the road with the risk of motobodo endangering both their life and our life.

A : There are lines there and you stop and follow the procedures exiting a junction. That's all. It is too complex of a situation in trying to explain why should one stop at a junction. Nak faham buat apa ? Lines boleh hilang ? Jangan tanya soalan susah. Jawab pun bukannya boleh faham, nak saya jawab buat apa. Ikut aje la.

As someone who drives in Penang for more than 5 years, motorcyclists are coming out from junctions without stopping or without even looking 95% of the time. I am always angry about them and curse them to be rolled under big lorries. But that doesn't mean I can hit them to death and escape any punishment.

When a motorcyclist comes out from junction IN A RESIDIENTIAL AREA without checking,
A. Car with proper speed and driver with full attention, would have seen that almost immediately, initiated an emergency brake, knocked down the motorcyclist with injury, and the motorcyclist should fall down almost the same spot where he/she gets knocked.
B. Car which is over speeding, driver who are not paying attention ( probably playing phone ), would not see him/her coming out from junction, continue speeding, then hear a big bang, drag for a few meters, motorcyclist fly up high, only then come to brake.

In this case, the BMW driver obviously speeding ( from the video ) in residential area, not paying attention ( did not brake in time and some more dragged her body for such long distance ) and doesn't respect for others' life at all ( being cocky and not even apologizing after killing auntie ).

This driver should get sentenced for maximum ( 10 years for dangerous driving I think ? ) punishment. Sadly there is no heavier punishment for drive-to-kill in Malaysia.

Agreed, because I not Penang lang ma, but been there multiple times, got into accident there before, and generally I like Penang (island) way of driving, some of the short cuts they do when stuck in traffic as long as it's not too risky - because, you know, traffic gotta move, cars/motors will find a way, like they say, so I'm not too stressed driving there, since the style quite match mine.

My observation was, there is a marked deterioration in driving skill/common sense post-pandemic in Klang Valley, maybe it applies to the whole of Malaysia and maybe it applies to me too.
