I was trying to take advantage of the 10 years driving license renewal announced by Anthony recently and logged into MyEG for renewal but noticed that the renewal up to 5 years is only available in the online portal.

Are they in the process of updating it or I need to go over to JPJ or Poslaju office for the renewal?

Also, my license is expiring on 2025, what happens to the additional 2 years if I were to renew now?

Not sure if it is already rolled out in MYEG but with previous experience renewing licenses, additional years will be added on top of the existing expiry date. By right, it should be an additional 10 years after 2025.

Just only announced. I highly doubt it has been implemented yet. These kind of administrative changes usually take some time.

why myEG? Direct JPJ better because they already roll out. Go to jpj early morning, 7am, download apps jpjeq, take number by apps, go eat breakfast, 8am renew license then go to work, blame heavy traffic jam makes you late

maybe you can wait 1-2month then only renew your lesen through myeg? cause baru implement this, unless you cant wait, can go jpj settle

already renew this morning. 10 years.
after payment, click print receipt and driving license to save the pdf files.

My driving license on myjpj app also updated immediately.


Btw, anyone know how to update the home address?

Yeah...that's logical...Unfortunately the JPJ is a crowded madhouse. I'll ask first at the post office. Some places i drive to have very spotty or no data signal...don't want the hassles if I encounter a remote area little napoleon.

Instead of queue up at JPJ, i will colour print and laminate the driving licence

Another problem with going to JPJ is to wear smart casual with long pant and shoe.

Tired to drag my lazy ass to do that, just wanted to go in fast and out.

Last year I renew at pos Malaysia hq, easy parking and barely anyone and can use credit card to pay and my license renew and get hard copy on the spot there

I'm going to renew my license via MySikap for 10 years. From the link above I see that there's option to collect the physical card from JPJ.

Has anyone done this before? Need to que as normal or got special counter for this? Also is it possible to collect at JPJ UTC instead? Called the JPJ UTC nearby my place but no one answer the phone.

Update: I knew I forgot to do something...but better late than never.

Went to JPJ...saw the huge number of people queuing there and said "OH HELL NO!"

Renewed driving license at pejabat pos, total cost for 10 years (expires in 2033) is RM272.50 (Pos Malaysia charges RM2.50). New license was issued on physical card. Whole process took less than 3 min. Checked on MyJPJ app, all is in order.

Tip: ask the pejabat pos counter clerk first if they have stock of physical card before initiating the transaction.

I renewed mine for 10 years recently at JPJ office, it was simple and fast.

Got a new license card too.
