I have a 4 mths old Schnauzer and her name is Mookie. I also have a 10 mths old poodle by the name of Nana, both females.
It's nice to know someone from Penang owning a Schnauzer too cos mostly our gathering consists of poodle being the majority.

We will be having a Penang dog gathering on 1 December. You can come join us.

Added on November 21, 2007, 9:24 ami took that last nite nia, Mookie hard to capture cos she wont stay still so most of my pics are blurred..i put treats in front of her also she will sit for a while then she cant wait, she will move forward and try to reach for the treats..

U also kinda remind me to take more pics of her cos now it seems like i took more pics of Nana when she was young than Mookie lor..erm yap, my bf bought a clipper so he does the grooming himself..

I bought Mookie at a bargain lor, Rm850 with cert. We scout around di and found most MS with cert are above Rm1K thus we wanted to find one w/o cert and then I found her tru a guy who sells puppies to petshops one, that time he has 4 females for me to choose from, fell in love with her the moment we saw her lor..

I've been reading this thread the moment i bought Mookie cos wana learn about MS..finally finished all those posts lor and i didnt register to post up anything until recently saw Kennyguy from has a MS too, wanted to invite him to come to our monthly dog gathering, its good to know more MS owners lor..

Mookie hor has some slight skin problem, her tummy area has those 'nanah' type and some of it looks like flakes near her neck and under armpit area..have been trying to find a solution for that and it seems like my BF read somewhere in the US forum that bathing them in Selsun shampoo helps to clear the problem a bit ah..there is improvement lor and when i brought her for her 3rd jab, Doctor actually said nothing to worry about, its not that she is allergic to anything, its just most puppies has this skin problem when they are young..does anyone have this problem with MS puppies ?

Mookie bday is 25 July 07 makes her roughly 4 mths old..

Yalor thats y we are trying the Selsun Blue medicated shampoo on her now..but Mookie ears very weird, one side will stand and the left one will droop. And it seems like she scratch her left ear more one lor..and we try to clean it every 1 -2 days with ear cleaning solution..left ear more dirt than right one..

Yalor MS in Penang quite pricey also around Rm1.3K but when the breeders cant sell at that price, they will drop the price liao.
Erm since we started to bath Mookie with the Selsun shampoo, her nanah thing is gone, i found some near her wee wee area and some under her armpit lor..i showed the Doctor and he says nothing one wor..all puppies has this skin problem..didnt give me any medication or anything so my bf go read other forums lor and thats when he read about the Selsun shampoo method so we give it a try and see..

Yah poodle is very cheap in Penang nia, my friend recently just bought a poodle for Rm470 only, seldom see Poodles with MKA though. I bought Nana for Rm650 and feel that its a bargain lor cos she is partially toilet trained di so when we brought her home, her accident is very minimal and most of the time she knows where to do her business one.

I let Mookie sleep in her cage, i will placed a cloth in the cage so she will sleep on it...hmm maybe ur right too, she may have slept on her own wee lor..i will try to wipe her bottom everyday and see..

yalor she is so young and ppl keep saying she's so small size only...btw does Schnauzers gain weight easily ?

Erm the last round we weigh her at the Vet's plc, she was only 1.42KG..now dunno..
I'm feeding both Eagle Pack Holistic - Lamb and Rice.
They get fruits and baby carrots every day one..

How much does your Schnauzer weigh now ? How old is ur MS di ?

Hi,
I bought 2 sets of wasahable doggie sanitary pants for my poodle last time when she had her 1st heat..as for the padding, i just use my own panty liners and change it everyday nia.

I change the padding daily and the sanitary pants maybe 2 days once..its those stretchable type one so it fits them just nicely..but just beware lor cos Nana likes to jump on sofa and bed and sometimes the pants will not be in the right position and will stain the sofa or bed a bit, but Nana is very hygenic Poodle, she will lick her own period one. When i put her in the cage, i dont let her wear the sanitary pants, if she's outside her cage, i will wear it for her..

Want to ask about MKA, i havent got my cert yet so when i receive mine, i need to transfer the ownership to me ? And the cost is Rm150 ?
Once in a while i do feed them yogurt too, i read somewhere that giving them Greenies and rawhide bones often is not good so i reduced those and change to baby carrots.

Added on November 22, 2007, 8:29 pmErr so far seems ok, just that sometimes can see orange color in their shit..i didnt cut into smaller pieces, just give them the baby carrots for them to bite..i think carrots are better than greenies lor..just that i bought a big packet of greenies also dowan to go to waste, alternately feed them baby carrots / greenies / rawhides..dun think i wana give rawhides to my MS..it seems like after she chew, most of it will get stuck on her beard, so hard for me to comb also..

The breeder actually said in between 4-5 mths lor so by end of Dec still didnt hear from the breeder, shall give him a call, i havent seen a MKA cert b4 but in ur cert there stated dog owner as ur name ?

Oh that is why i don't give Mookie any greenies lor..i stopped giving raw hides since it was so messy on her and i also feel she is too young to chew those stuffs lor..though she is greedy and always craving for food, i rather give her more fruits. vegies or even yogurt..

U know i was wondering if use pampers on our dogs, how about the tail there ? Hehe and today u said cut a hole..then now im curious, how about when the dog wana poo ? poo in the pampers ?? Cos for the dog sanitary pants right, it doesnt cover the whole backside one ma..so the poo will fall out when they poo..feel that it is better lor..if not the poo will be stuck in the pampers until u take off the pampers..but it is quite interesting also..dunno if i should try wearing pampers for Nana 2nd heat boh..hehehe..ask my colleague to loan me one pampers and try on Nana...

The panty liner is quite long one ma..i cut into roughly 3 pcs cos if u buy the sanitary dog pants hor, there is a small pocket to insert the panty liner and it can't fit the whole panty liner one n u need to cut it into smaller pieces lor..so to answer ur Qs, buy one small packet and cheap panty liner can liao lor..

Erm when Nana was on heat, she was about 8 mths old, pee also not that often di..if she wana wee, she will go to her wee wee pad, i will tell her wait and lift up her butt and quickly remove the pants or let her pee on it and change it lor..thats y i bought a spare..
Oh my i placed the wee wee pads on the tray so when she jump onto the tray, i know she wana do her business liao..

Ur luilui so smart...shall see how when Nana is due for her 2nd heat..does luilui act differently when she was on heat, i remember Nana acting a bit different one lor when she was on heat..

Erm i cant remember all di but one was really obvious, she was really flirtatious with other male dogs..i bring Nana for evening walks everyday and b4 she was on heat, she wont go near the male poodle cos she was quite new at socialising then..but when she was on heat, she will go up to the male poodle and play and flirt with him one lor..

Hi, Dido looks so cute. When u go to the Vet, weigh him and see how heavy he is, my Mooks was only 1.42KG nia when we went for her last jab but she has gain weight lor over the recent weeks..so i dont think ur Dido looks heavy lor from the pics..

Erm the ears ah..looks ok ah..dun do cropping..so cruel to the dog nia..show u my Mooks ears, bigger and lagi weird, one side drop and the other one standing..

Mooks is not mixed breed, pure Schnauzer and she has MKA..

Basically, its like ur cutting ur dog's ear to look smaller..to me it doesnt matter whether got crop or not..it will be painful to the dog and after surgery, it will be tough to look after them...i just love Mookie just the way she is now.
