I'm sorry but I'm a bit tired of this situation already. Bebe/Toro is a beautiful dog, and if i had the space and time, I'd take him home right now.
If Newbie/Jason cannot take care of the poor fella, can we just get him a new parent? Sending him to another forumer every so often IS NOT helping at all - dogs at his age need to bond, and this isn't helping.

Like I've said before, you don't own a dog, if anything he/she owns you.

Honestly, I no longer care anymore if I sound undiplomatic, harsh or high-and-mighty, the situation has dragged on long enough, PLEASE SORT IT OUT ONCE AND FOR ALL vmad.gif

Also, what is this talk about getting a black and silver MS sometime in the future? vmad.gif Bebe/Toro is still suffering due to your error in judgement/indecisions. sad.gif

Added on November 29, 2007, 5:37 pmmost people here are pet lovers = pathological-techno-fetishist-with-social-deficit smile.gif Oh wait, that's the definition of otaku, not pet lover.

anyways, many here love their pets very much (mine ARE family to me) so are very passionate.

Pet-Otaku perhaps?

We have discussed this before.
Siu Kat's ears are cropped, but I honestly won't recommend it to anyone. PM me if you need more info.
Cropping and tail docking HAD a use. I don't see any MSes catching rats nowadays, so no real point in cropping and docking nowadays.

That said, don't let the fanatical 'oh it is so painful' activists influence you. There are always two sides to the story. Google up sites showing injuries to working dogs' tails and you'd understand tail docking better.

The 'Official' American Standard

Some comments on the above

QUOTE
The Breed Standard calls for the height at the withers or shoulder blades to be at least 12" and no more than 14". It does not specify any particular weight for the breed. That will depend on size and bone structure but a dog measuring 12" to 14" will be 11 to 20 lbs. Some breeders are producing Miniature Schnauzers that are under 10" tall. This is a disqualification according to the breed standard. Sometimes the term 'Toy' is used to describe them. The 'Toy' Schnauzer is not a separate breed, it is simply an undersized Miniature Schnauzer.

Thats 5 - 9 kgs

UK Page (no need to convert measurements smile.gif )

I have personally seen MSs no bigger than 4kgs (almost as small a large chihuahua) and some as large as 12kgs! rclxub.gif

Added on November 30, 2007, 4:01 pmThe official measurement, for those who fuss over these things yawn.gif would be height measured standing still at the shoulders which should be 30cm - 35cm.

jaya jusco sells japanese ones - not scented i think, and smaller than the normal ones (1/2 size only) but very absorbant. I prefer these - use two pieces side by side, change only the dirty half. RM49.90 for 100 pieces.

I won't honestly recommend you getting a dog now and then bringing him/her overseas for the following reasons:

1) Change of environment for you. It will take you some time to adapt to your new life and there will be extra hassle should you need to take care of another as well.
2) Unless you own a house where you will be studying, most oversea landlord WILL NOT ALLOW dogs, and unlike Malaysia there is no 'tak apa' attitude. Someone will report you.
3) Did you know that you are advised to get health insurance for your dogs/cats in OZ? This is an indication of how expensive vet care is over there. Animal Medical Clinic prices are standard (if not cheaper) in OZ.
4) Last but not least, $$ and hassle involved in shipping a dog overseas and back again.

Those innocent eyes are a lifetime commitment.

Also if you really are going overseas and want a dog, there are a lot of different breeds overseas (and more often than not) very well bred ones that you can buy. Not as cheap as in M'sia perhaps, but very nice. Giant Schnauzer anyone?

QUOTE
FOREQUARTERS - Forelegs are straight and parallel when viewed from all sides. They have strong pasterns and good bone. They are separated by a fairly deep brisket which precludes a pinched front. The elbows are close, and the ribs spread gradually from the first rib so as to allow space for the elbows to move close to the body. Fault - Loose elbows. The sloping shoulders are muscled, yet flat and clean. They are well laid back, so that from the side the tips of the shoulder blades are in a nearly vertical line above the elbow. The tips of the blades are placed closely together. They slope forward and downward at an angulation which permits the maximum forward extension of the forelegs without binding or effort. Both the shoulder blades and upper arms are long, permitting depth of chest at the brisket. Feet - Short and round (cat feet) with thick, black pads. The toes are arched and compact.

HINDQUARTERS - The hindquarters have strong-muscled, slanting thighs. They are well bent at the stifles. There is sufficient angulation so that, in stance, the hocks extend beyond the tail. The hindquarters never appear overbuilt or higher than the shoulders. The rear pasterns are short and, in stance, perpendicular to the ground and, when viewed from the rear, are parallel to each other. Faults - Sickle hocks, cow hocks, open hocks or bowed hindquarters.

googled this from somewhere...
