Couple claims trial to exploiting Indonesian maid



KUALA LUMPUR: A couple has claimed trial before the sessions court on a charge of exploiting an Indonesian domestic worker.

Lum Kah Wai and his wife, Loke Chee Hui, pleaded not guilty to the charge this morning.

They were charged under Section 12 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007 for exploiting the victim with the use of force.

If found guilty, they face a jail term of up to 15 years and a fine.


Judge Azura Alwi granted bail of RM10,000 each in one surety and fixed June 6 for the next mention.

Lum and Loke were ordered to surrender their passports to the court pending the disposal of their case.

Maids go for training before going to their new employer. But does the employer go for training so know the dos and don’t when comes to maids ? We all work and we all got horrible bosses. But cukur I don’t have to stay at home with my boss. Sure she or he bosses will rage more at home than in office

Some maids get flown to 5 star resort in helicopter, others get abused. Such a wide spectrum of employers over here. Shows that screening isn't really done well.

My staff had 3 maids ran away in 2 years time

After talk to her, I found out she is staying with parents + siblings + nephew/nieces in same roof. Around 10 plus people

And her parents insist the maid to iron everything. Hence maid spend no less then 4 hours per day ironing baju only

Shit people like this should not hire maid 8n first place
