As a fellow ex-engineer best of luck to you.

Worked in 2 MNCs.
1st company went from a role of leading a group of 2+2 technicians to maintain separate production line to restructuring no technician under me all need to do by myself, while still doing engineer jobs.

2nd company before covid do massive layoffs, my maintenance dept. 5 mechanical engineer reduced to 1 (left myself, because youngest & lowest paid).

Both time no salary adjustment, no work handover, no discussion on how to manage new workload, nothing. You're expected to figure it out because 'that's why we hire you as an engineer, to solve problems (of our own making).' Salary at both company around 3-3.5k. Though I heard after that factory usually like that, not for engineer live one

Well that's why it's in past tense, aye. Wouldn't ask for increment anyway, it's just not feasible to do all those jobs as one individual, wouldn't even do them if they add one or two zeros behind my salary.
1st MNC had me throwing up every other night because stress & not enough sleep. Multiple hat job scope really illogical if job is not simply on computer, you can't be at multiple places at the production line in one time.

Also become racist after those experience, but that's a whole nother story.
