For all we know, this guy could be working in some small states like Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu or east Malaysia. Not everyone works in KL/Selangor.
Last time my celery also increased by 1.2k immediately after I went to Selangor, same position, infact the company was even smaller in scale compared to the company I worked in my hometown. Somemore no bargaining, immediately hired me after interview, I think that was because they were expecting me to ask for more than a 1.2k increment.
