stayed in one as a kid,
corner lot townhouse bottom unit,
always hear top unit dragging chair/funiture late night, but no one stay in the top unit!

otherwise similar to landed if you stay bottom, just that you need to deal with noise from the neighbor on top,

if u choose top unit then need to climb stairs everyday.

Think of it this way.
It's a landed property + apartment hybrid. You get to stay on a landed, with the convenience of facilities.
So when thinking of buying an apartment, you may consider going for townhouse if the price is still within your budget.

Imagine apartment or condo but the convenience of parking car at your doorstep

Much cheaper compared to double storey within same location

That is what I have in mind, so the only thing to consider is location, Choices of not so old and in matured neighbourhood is the challenge

And also the dilemma of ground floor or 1st floor

Ground floor u feel like typical landed n not hot caz blocked by 1st floor but if ur neighbour upstairs all 100kg u can GG

if 1st floor hard for old folks to climb everyday

the best of both worlds also comes with the worst of both worlds. Noice upstairs sound like condo/apartment, hard to walk up for old folks sounds like terrace houses. hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

If this is the case, buy the ground floor + 1st floor.

Noise issue solved.

Cheaper alternative over terrace solved, get go enjoy the facilities.

One question:

If you stay on upper floor, do you have the right to install solar panel? I believe townhouse is strata titled, so the roof doesn't technically belong to you, right? It is deemed common area?
