For big malls like Mid Valley, One Utama, or Sungei Wang Plaza(Main Wing and Jumpa) , which have two wings, they can choose to do Chinese New Year decorations on either the old wing or the new wing, and the same goes for Hari Raya Puasa decorations.

### π **Why Two Ramadan Bazaars in 2030?**
#### 1. **Islamic (Hijri) Calendar Mechanics**
- The Hijri year is **11 days shorter** than the Gregorian year.
- Every **33 years**, Ramadan cycles through all seasons and "doubles up" in one Gregorian year.
#### 2. **2030 Timeline**
- **1st Ramadan 2030**: Starts **Jan 5, 2030** (Hijri 1451) β Raya on **Feb 5, 2030**.
- **2nd Ramadan 2030**: Starts **Dec 26, 2030** (Hijri 1452) β Raya on **Jan 25, 2031**.
- *Both Ramadans fall under the Gregorian year 2030* (Dec 26-31 counts as 2030).

Kongsi Raya, also known as Gongxi Raya, is a Malaysian portmanteau, denoting the Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid ul-Fitr) festivals.
As the timing of these festivals fluctuate due to their reliance on lunar calendars (the Chinese calendar is a lunisolar calendar while the Islamic calendar is a purely lunar calendar), they occasionally occur close to one another - every 33 years to be exact.
The Islamic calendar follows a lunar cycle, which is about 11 days shorter than the solar cycle.
Therefore, a year in the Islamic calendar consists of 12 lunar months, each lasting for 29 or 30 days. As a result, the Islamic calendar year is about 354 days long, and it can be up to 355 days in a leap year.
The Islamic calendar consists of 12 months, and each month can have either 29 or 30 days. The decision on the number of days in each month is based on the sighting of the new crescent moon. If the new moon is seen, then the current month ends and the next month begins. If not, then the current month continues for another day, and the new month starts the following day.
Most Islamic months have 29 or 30 days, but the month of Ramadan is always 29 or 30 days, depending on the sighting of the new moon.
The decision on the start and end of Ramadan is based on the sighting of the new moon, and the month of Ramadan is always followed by the month of Shawwal, which begins with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri fell on May 13th in 2021, May 2nd in 2022, and April 22nd in 2023, respectively.
If Hari Raya Aidilfitri continues to advance by about 10 days each year, it will coincide with the Chinese Lunar New Year in 2029, 2030, and 2031, which is also known as Kongxi Raya.
It is worth mentioning that Malaysia experienced Kongxi Raya in
1964, 1965, 1966,
1996, 1997, and 1998,
where the Chinese Lunar New Year coincided with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
This occurs on average every 32 to 33 years.
Although most people are eagerly anticipating this upcoming dual celebration, there are also concerns, especially regarding potential reductions in public holidays and traffic congestion that may result from it.
In fact, historically, Malaysia experienced "Kongsi Raya" in
1964, 1965, 1966, and 1996, 1997, 1998.
