Hey guys,

I found a one-click Automatic iPod Touch JailBreaker but I don't know where to post so I'm gonna add in here. Sorry if I jacked your thread. notworthy.gif Well its not exactly one click but follow just this one program's instruction and you'll be able to jailbreak and get that Installer into the Springboard.

Step 1
The usual crashing of Safari browser via TIF exploit.
Point your browser to http://jailbreak.toc2rta.com

Step 2
Go to this website http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1954
Download the Automatic iPod Touch Jailbreaker. Unzip it and execute the Jailbreak.bat batch file and follow the on-screen instructions.

I suggest you register yourself with that Forum and check out the comments and issues encountered. Also there's a YouTube video instruction here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuVUmmNG_HA

If it works for you, please thank the original author and put this into the 'main instructions'. Thank you once again and good luck!

Hey there, no worries. Not a problem posting your findings here. Glad that you did, actually. But i've actually already posted that up. It's the same as the Basher's iPod fix.

Anyway, i updated post #1 item #5 and i realized that the site don't handle .png images quite well. It gave black background to the images i uploaded. So i couldn't share more Custom carrier icons with you guys because their text is in black. And giving them a black background meaning you'll see nothing at all because these icons have a transparent background. Anyone knows how we could overcome this, eh?

So sorry about that. Should have verified it first. I was streaming videos from YouTube and I found this method which I was comfortable and I thought I should share. Looks like its a duplicate.

By the way, I have done all the mods and have installed some iPhone softwares then I realized my iTunes isn't detecting my iPod Touch anymore. Did I do something wrong and should I start from scratch? Thanks

Hey no worries. Erm, but your touch does function normally eh?
*
Yeah its functioning great. I've got some applications on it already. But occasionally these applications would crash and exit to the springboard. Wonder why... I've set all the permissions properly on each files and subfolders. Anyway I'll restore again and try again. See if my iTunes is detecting it properly.

I've bumped into a few threads at the jailbreaking scene that a few people are encountering lost of iTunes sync after jailbreak. Some mentioned renaming of files and folders are necessary before using iTunes but did not specify what to rename.

I'll repost once I get this fixed. If anyone has any idea, please let me know. Thanks!

Yeah, please let us know. Tell us the details of the error and problems u encounter so i could include in the troubleshooting section biggrin.gif Good luck.

Problem solved. Its due to the iTunesHelper.exe which I permanently disabled on startup. Below services must be enabled for full iTunes application functionality:

1. Apple Mobile Device
2. iPod service
3. iTunesHelper

Cause I have a habit of disabling services manually when I don't need them. So be sure to re-enable iTunesHelper.exe after finishing jailbreaking sessions.

No lar. Mine took 2-3 hours (jailbreaking and installing programs) provided everything goes without any problems and you understood the instructions. Otherwise its restore again and again.

Honestly, I still chicken out to jailbreak mine. Btw, from the installer we can find, download and install right away apps from the iPhone? You know, all those Maps/Stocks/Weather/Mail/Notes/etc.

Does it necessary to install Summerboard thing? All I want was just to add some of the iPhone apps, that's it.

After jailbreaking, the iPhone applications (if I'm not mistaken) aren't available from the Installer App. You're supposed to install them manually by copy and paste via FTP. You have to download the applications and then manually replace the folders into your iPod Touch and then setting the correct permissions. Stringsfellow made a clear instruction on another thread. I suggest you give it a try.

The other 3rd party applications are all available from the Installer App. I think this is a brilliant idea in converging all the programs into one place for easy installation without the need of a PC.

I think you can skipped the Summerboard if you're not interested in the themes. But you need Summerboard when you install a lot of applications and running out of place for icons. In fact a lot of jailbreaking routines out there has integrated Summerboard installations in it. Try touchfree.

Holy cow, I didn't realize that restoring to factory settings still needs a 100MB+ download. So guys, do all your stuff properly and treat the Restore as your last resort. I've learn my lesson but I'm happy that a one touch solution to jailbreak is finally here. smile.gif

Added on October 29, 2007, 11:53 pmBtw, can I just hit the Restore button on iTunes to restore it?
*
Yeah, if your PC have not downloaded the update 1.1.1 before, it will go through that lengthy process. Once the file is downloaded, it'll be on your PC so the next time you do a restore it will straight go for that file unless of course there's a newer update from Apple's servers.
