Hi Everyone, I have been using my Note 20 Ultra for 2yr+ now. There is certain issues that I have been dealing with it for long time & I just wonder is it because my unit is faulty or perhaps it is by design. Below are the list:

1. Overheat: This one really annoys me, I use my phone for waze alot when driving. The device can really get pretty hot even after few minutes of using waze. I normally clear all cache & close all apps before turning on waze but problem same. My previous S8 doesn't even sweat at all. Is this by design?

2. Signal: This is also annoying, the phone antenna somehow isn't strong. There are location where my wife cheaper vivo phone can pickup the maxis but mine couldn't (we both on same network). Most case I have to restart my phone to get it working again. Not that there is no signal, the 4G+ sign is there but when u surf the net it will not display. Another problem, normally phone should be smart enough to know that there is no wifi signal around the area & it should use the data.. but it doesn't work at times for me. I have to manually turn-off wifi in order to force it to use data. Is weird I know, but is it my phone or someone have this problem too?

3. Fingerprint: Well, I do know that Note 20 ultra have a smaller sensor & it isn't great at detecting fingers (the later phone that came out has no problem). However, what I'm trying to say is it works randomly. At times it can detect my finger almost instantly, but it can also go the other extreme to not able to detect my finger at all for x5 times to a point I have to use pin-code to get in. Same finger, same way of touching... random behaviour. Sigh. Anyone facing this issue too?

4. Camera: Samsung has always thrive in taking good pix & this phone can really take fantastic shot. BUT.... autofocus is always the problem. Sometimes the phone find it really hard to find the subject to focus leaving certain shots become blur. Most case I have to manually tap to force it to focus. I mean, it should be like this.. by right it should do it automatically. Macro/ close up shot almost doesn't work at all, at times I have to shoot it further away & zoom in to the particular subject in order to take it, so inconvenience.

So here are the 4 main issues I face with the phone. For those of u asking, I did try going to Samsung service centre enquiring about some of my issues. But because most things happen randomly & we all know is frustrating when you want to show the problem it just doesn't show up! Random problem is hard to fix.

Anyway if any of you are using Note 20 Ultra, maybe can share your experience here. From your sharing maybe it can shed some light as to whether is it a problem by design or just I'm the unlucky owner of a manufacture defect phone. Thanks for reading.

latest s23, the camera Big issue

not all phone are perfect... all got it's own weakness..

1. overheat. all same. when using data + waze. when using it better put the phone at the air cond there to reduce the heat generated.

2. different phone different design on board antenna. weak/strong u use itonly know. cant do anything about it either.

i suppose you are using exynos processor? try update the firmware. when its stable. do not update again.

use aeroplne mode to recover. no need restart

under-screen fingerprint is lousier. try remove screen protector and see.

2 ng, signal problem, you use hotlink/maxis?

1 is normal with most phones. espevcially if metal type body.
2 (signal) and 4, are the same reasons i stopped using samsung (as my 2nd phone) long time ago.

All 4 items also present in Note 10 Plus.

Myself now figuring how to settle this especially the low signal problem. Need to restart the phone weekly to fix it.

As for overheating, I stopped using it for Waze altogether.

I always update to latest Firmware, but as what you said should have stayed on the one that is working fine. Darn!!
Maybe I wait for next update & if it's stable will not update anymore.

I never tried aeroplane mode, usually i just turn off mobile data & back on. Will try on this next time it happen. Thanks for suggestion.

OMG, I thought it was only mine but seems like it has become a common issue in newer Samsung phone now.
I was using Galaxy S8+ before this, and never had any of these issues. It was a wonderful phone actually, wish I have kept it

there is a pro photo mode where you can manual set focus, works well in situations whr the autofocus just cant get what you want

You are quite right, usually after 1 update everything works well.. then next update, suddenly got issues!
