Dictatorship flavor BRICS already tested in 2010s era, the best era to replace or at least catching up with USD empire,coz that era the west crazily just face the worst economic crisis since 1920s, even old civilization like Greece collapse, UK print money to get out from crisis,so does US and other EU,Japan. But seems like all BRICS member at that time too have their own problem, only CCP progress on that era.

Now even CCP have their own problem in this 2020s era, problem with Taiwan, problem in SCS where even Philippines making a classic moves calling their old friend and collonizer US back to their old base. While India getting crazy with their anti-China reporting in their media,even some say anti CCP currency idea is getting momentum etc.Vietnam too since last year trying hard to woo US military company to sell them their weapon, too much dependant on Russia cause a lot of spare parts unavailable and too complicated to get from 3rd party supplier.

Conclusion, careful with what geo-political moves we going to play, don't be emotional with what the BRICS camp trying to play now, be rational about their geo-political challenges as in the 2010s era.

Its US that force their allies to choose other currency, not China forcing them.

When US print money(aka paper), US want goods, you keep paper, US keep goods, then US print more money, USD on your hand devalue, technically you are giving free goods to US. When half of the world stop accepting USD, that means US will take 2x from you, assuming US consumption is the same. then 2/3 world stop accepting it, and you still accepting USD, then US will take 3x from you. So basically when half of the world stop giving to US, the tread will quickly change.

Just wanna know what or how it will benefit Malaysia. Not really fimilar.

What I heard for Astro biz talk that brics is like no need use money changer to USD to buy something. Instead use to own currency. Which this case is benefits to Malaysia but to deal with the unstable currency country better still use USD for transcation.

At least there is option to use USD or no instead of only 1 option.

NEW DELHI, March 13 (Reuters) - India has asked banks and traders to avoid using Chinese yuan to pay for Russian imports, three government officials involved in policy making and two banking sources said, because of long-running political differences with its neighbour.

India, which has emerged as a top buyer of Russian oil as well as discounted coal, would prefer the use of United Arab Emirates dirhams to settle trade, three government officials said.

One of the government officials directly involved in the matter said New Delhi is "not comfortable" with foreign trade settled in yuan but said settlement in "dirham is okay."

The second official said that India cannot allow settlement in yuan till the relations between the two countries improve.

It wont be forever, but unless theres a major shift away from the us as a major market, the usd will continue to be the main currency.

Unlike what most people think, the us military has very little to do with it being the reserve currency. The fact that most countries trade with it does. If e.g bhutan trades exclusively with india, and all indian-bhutan traders are willing to accept rupees (instead of other currencies for their convenience for other trades), then bhutan can basically keep almost all of its foreign reserves in indian rupees.

As long as those two assumptions arent true, traders (and central banks) will keep a portion of their holdings in the most widely traded currency even if they do little trade with the us itself. If this currency is the usd, then theyll hold usd.

India anti China or China anti India is nothing new.... Reduce dependency on Usd can benefit both countries, that is why in this case, both countries will do it their way..

US allies are suffering now because of US, so not sure how strong is their bonds when US is always the winning party when other allies are on the disadvantage side … friendship can be broken … no such thing as BFF.

Best time to replace USD as reserve? When the US is forced to do QT to suck back all their excess USD because of inflation within the US. When USD collected back by the US, the BRICS can issue their own replacement currency to use for trading and reserve at a lower interest rate.

HOw to force the US to QT even harder and have to up interest rate even higher? Spike up inflation even more harder by OPEC+ & Russia cutting oil production suddenly and making oil price hike... oh wai.....
