Hello all,

Im looking for some advice.

Recently family member passed away.

Package was Maxis 128.

Now want to keep the line/number active for at least 2+ years.

What is the best option to do this?

This phone will not be actively used, just need to keep active to be able to receive calls/sms/whatsapp. (at home all the time with wifi)

Steps taken already...
Step 1 Change the account name to the next of kin.
Step 2 Change from Maxis128 postpaid to Hotlink prepaid.

Thanks nod.gif

MNP to XOX Prepaid- Normal (neither WAWA nor Black plans).
Within 10 days of sim activation, subscribe in apps any one-off Welcome Deals (Minimum RM30 or more).
Straight away gets 28 months sim validity without further top up.
Thereafter within apps, go to 'Rewards' and redeem for additional 8 months validity totaling 36 months.

Go with Unifi Bebas. Cheapest of all to keep the number. Just need to use data, send sms or calling out every 90 days, then it will extend indefinitely.

Unifi prepiad would be the cheapest but requires usage once every 90 days. Costs around RM25 i thik

Xox no maintenance needed just higher cost i think rm35

I had trouble looking for this in the app. Had to go thru 123 to get it to pop up.

I actually have a backup unifi bebas line. But i worry they might forget to trigger the usage then the sim will expire.

i agree, but this use case, rather not have to deal with 90days activity thing really.. older generation and live far away, so less hassle is better.

use yoodo , just buy a RM5 voice or RM3 sms , then set auto renew , just topup enough credit into wallet yoodo , then can stay for long .
let say RM5 voice , just topup rm60 for 1year , rm120 for 2year , then not need to watch it , using your mainly usage email to register , then can received the email for notification for expire/renew/....
